Mixin’ it up: Goon & Koyote

DiamondgrillsFriday again and we’re keepin’ it European this week too. Goon & Koyote from Diamondgrills have hooked us up with a fantastic mix for the series. Here you go!

1. Stylz & The J.I.Z – Smack it up Flip it, Rub it down
This is how we do in Paris bayyybey!

2. Supadukey – Don’t Hold Back
Supadukey using a reversed sample of Farley Jackmaster Funk’s “Move Your Body” in a Baltimore breakbeat, we love it!

3. DJ Brain – Love like This
Our homey from St-Louis is responsible for the 8 Bit Construction Set legendary 12” with Bitch Ass Darius, he produced this hot Cameo edit, those drum patterns drive us crazy like whoop whoop.

4. Sole Tech – Jit Remix
A masterpiece of Detroit electro, never leaves our crates. Get your Jit on!

5. High Powered Boys – Up Down
Our boys Surkin and Bobmo, only 20 years old, fuckin huge dance music culture, wicked tracks, wait till they blow up.

6. Clepto Maniacs – Positive Feedback
Reminds us of The Prodigy. This UK Breakbeat Hardcore track was played in booty sets in Detroit 10 years ago.

7. Supadukey – Doo Dat

8. Work it to The Bone

9. Bitches Ain’t Shit

10. K O Motherfucken T – Wet
Sounds like Miami Bass, tastes like Miami Bass…but this comes from the D!

11. Mr Andersonic – “Brooknam“
Big shouts out to Mr Andersonic and DJ Salinger, the Booty Bar in Brooklyn, when are you realeasing this for real!?

12. Quadrant Six – Body Mechanic
pure electro joint, with car noises

13. Afro Rican – Let it go

14. Doo Doo Brown – Hotel Money
2 Hyped Brother And A Dog are famous for their track “Doo Doo Brown”, “Hotel Money” is another great Baltimore Track produced by Frank Ski.

15. Q Moog
One of our favorite electro track of all time.

16. Say What – Yeah

17. Goon & Koyote “The Dough“ (Arcade Mode)
This is our 1st track, it’ll be realeased on Arcade Mode 7” Blue serie in a few weeks, a fuckin’ Bass track how we like them, big up to Emile and Kriss Kross.

18. Dj Technics – The Frogs
Because we are French and we eat them !

19. Stacey Q – Two Of Hearts
Because we might be gay somehow !

20. Farley Jackmaster Funk – Think

21. Miss Tony – Whatzup Whatzup?
An early Baltimore club track produced by Scottie B and sung by Miss Tony

22. Earth People – Dance
Discovered this house track on a Derrick May mixCD, we like the syncopated breaks, funkier than your mom !

23. Bitch Ass Darius – Percy Hoez (Nes Records)
Our main man from Saint-Louis, always 5 years in advance whatever he produces (the Ride track that samples Co-Ed was produced in 2000), plays (his Kenny Kingston mashup mixes). Soon PhD in astrophysics, a retarded genius and a big influence for us.

Look out for Diamond Grills vol.2 out this summer!

[...] Our old friends from France, Goon & Koyote (aka Diamond Grills, remember?), did a mix for the Disque Primeur podcast. DP has got some more impressive podcasts from various french cats so you should definetely be up on that. [...]
