I think this song is dope. Im not really concerned about what is hiphop now or back then since hip hop seems to be having an identity crisis at the moment. This is something else, and just because it sounds like rap doesnt mean it is. I will say , i doubt any of these dudes every listened to fatboy slim other then to impress a beautiful lady at a rave. Anyways, these dudes function as a cultural mirror in a culture that doesnt have one – meaning america. Thats why it makes people so uncomfortable – especially smart book reading kinds of people who like to tell each other what hip hop is or isnt.

Yeah, I gave Plastic Little a fair shake. Some of their production I really love, but the lyrical immaturity leans more towards obnoxious than just being real. This solidifies Spank Rock, Amanda Blank, Uffie, and the other select few that can pull off the potty mouth without it being annoying. Plastic Little sound like 14 year old’s with an adult vocabulary. Ghostface is so sincere though right?

I should hate this (Ghost’s participation in it notwithsatnding) but I don’t. Don’t get it twisted though: this is more hip hop for people who were into Fatboy Slim a few years back than the real deal though.
