Rehab

You heard Amy Winehouse here on Discobelle a few days ago when Ghostface appeared on her track “You know I’m no good”. “Rehab” is the first single off her newly released album “Back to black” which was produced by among others Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi. Here Hot Chip remixes the track and turns it into sounding more like one of their own tracks, sort of feels like a funky discotrack with the horns, the repetition of “hey” and the handclaps. The original is more on the soul/r n’ b tip.

I’ve been asleep on most of the hip hop and electro thangs the Discobelle has been disseminating, apologies, but this woke me the heck up - discobelle always coming through with the wake up call. I am awake, coffee grounds. This is one that I can even share with the wife. Gracias, cHUCk dA fONk

I like the fact that Amy Winehouse is kind of a gutter broad. She drinks a lot, she fights, she cusses, she has crazy tats all over… she’s like a guy in a hot broad’s body but she sings like an angel. (No Ted Haggard on this comment just in case)

“I like the fact that Amy Winehouse is kind of a gutter broad”
i met her in a pub in putney a few years back (pre-fame) and we all thought she was a porn star - fitness in a slightly rank way! she’s bringing something new to the table (pop-wise) and that is all gravy!
hotchip version is flames - and you know she done good getting ghostface ‘pon the remix

[...] The obligatory Hot Chip remix of something actually turning out to be better than the original. [...]
