Rave-hop

Jon from Proper Villains sent us this remix of Gucci Mane. He wasn’t too sure if the proper genre was rave-hop or trance-hop. Neither are we, you tell us. Hot though.

Lovekevins

So, you thought that we had forgotten about swedish indie. Nope, here’s a new track from The Lovekevins (remember?). Pop music at it’s finest and it suits us perfectly now that spring seems to have finally arrived here in Sweden, which means that we here at Discobelle HQ will be listening to this while trying to soak up some sunrays. The Lovekevins will release their debut album “VS. The Snow” on our friend Martin’s label Songs I wish I had written on April 4th.

Digitalism

Jean from Kitsuné provided us with yet another banger.

This time it’s a track from Digitalism, the german dj/production duo with a knack for making electronic music that everyone can rock to. They’re probably best known for their incredible track, “Jupiter Room”, that made people on dancefloors all over Europe go apeshit last year and that spawned a sleeve of remixes where the most notable is the one by the mighty Erol Alkan. Digitalism are currently working on their debut album “Idealism” that will be released May 21th, preceeded by the single “Pogo” on May 7th. This track is yet another fine example of their rockish electro music and should not be ignored, a steady drum beat propells this track forward while the boys in Digitalism does their best to get us to shake our asses.

We got mail

Our e-mailbox is overflowing with e-mails. There is no way we can listen to all the stuff you send us. So we have decided to cut down on posting mixes in our weekly “we got mail”-post. We will still post single tunes and remixes but from now on we will only post mixes we asked for.

So if you are an artist or made a remix of a tune that you think we would like. Send it here.

Holler if you disagree and we’ll think about it again.

Lily Allen remix

It’s been a long time since we last did a Lily Allen post. Since we’re such big fans of her now’s the time to amend that with this Mark Ronson remix of “Smile” that also features up and coming rapper Wale.

Cousin Cole

Our buddy Cousin Cole did an edit of our favorite swedish indie track from last year, Peter Bjorn and John’s whistley tune “Young Folks” gets a little bit more club friendly.
