  • cutups says:

the term “blog house” is somewhere between silly and embarrassing.

  • dude says:

    April 17, 2007 at 03:46

I agree with cutups “blog house” name wise is lame. The promotion theory behind these acts is simailr but Kavinsky doesn’t sound anything like Vicarious Bliss.

Music blogs should have there own wikipedia entry though but not on these terms.

  • jack oatmon says:

    April 17, 2007 at 04:54

    That should be deleted ASAP
    That wiki must die!

The term still cracks me up. Validated by Wikipedia or not, the term has stuck in my vocabulary. Blog House forever!

stupidest shit ever, while i love what you people call “blog house” its not that much different from non “blog” house, besides, its a lame lame lame ass name and not even a genre or style per se. DELETE, keep the nice mp3s coming though.

  • Andre says:

    April 18, 2007 at 01:32

well that article/genre got deleted fast. kinda sums up what blog house is, music that people will not be listening to in a few months time. how perfect.

Nothing really to do with the article, but what was that website that let you search through all the music blogs that was linked in the article?

    Yall dont get it.

Blog House is not a musical genre that defines a sound. Its a funny name for a method of distribution and a shift in the way dance music marketing / promotion works.

Bottom line – you cant just go out to a record store and buy all the shit on fluo, discobelle, etc etc. You gotta download it and then play it in the club.

So in a weird way I am going to contradict myself and say that the method of distribution IS defining a sound. But that sound is eclectic and genre-less.

So the result of the blog house effect is newer music getting exposed and onto the dance floor / into mixes faster then ever. There will be an acceleration of artists breaking, trends building and evaporating, and music spreading globally once this model gets applied by more business.

    Come on, internet 101.
