Another issue is that video games usually are serious naturally with the main focus on understanding rather than amusement. Although, there’s an entertainment facet to keep your young ones engaged, just about every game is frequently designed to develop a specific skill set or course, such as mathematics or science. some of your points are valid, Justin, but I have to disagree on a few things:
1) it’s kind of implied that this “Stop Snitching” attitude is limited to this generation of rappers and fans. But NWA and Public Enemy as well as others had songs about police that were intended to show that the police don’t care about black people.
2) Cam’ron is from Harlem, i don’t know about Busta.
3) I have a hard time saying that gangsta culture shouldn’t be sold like it is through hip-hop and clothing and movies, etc. For me, I like listening to Clipse’s songs about slingin’ or Wu-Tang’s songs about the hard life growing up. Both are forms of escapism for me, and the both give me some more perspective on life.
However, I think the problem is that gangsta culture is embraced in certain communities. People grow up thinking that dealing drugs is great, because they get the money and everything that goes with it. Gangsta rap didn’t create this image, but it certainly isn’t helping it go away.
4) I really think that while I can’t agree with Cam’ron, you gotta admit he knows what he is doing. He knows that his “beef” with 50 will sell records. He knows that keeping the gangsta image will sell records. Is what he doing responsible? No. But the society we live in is ruled by money, so he is doing the smart thing.

You know what bothers me about all these millionaire rappers? They think they’re all “gangsta” and “dangerous” and “drug dealin’” and “bitch stealin”, while in real life, a 8 y/o kid could kick their ass. What a pussy this Cam’ron guy is. What a pussy Busta Rhymes really is. Grew up in the hood? Yeah right. Probably got a condo in the suburbs. My God, I don’t understand why the youth doesn’t see right through these thought-up-by-managers-to-sell-more-records-imago’s of 50 Cent and the like. It’s all as fake as Britney’s singing, and all the kids eat it like it’s McD’s. Even here in Holland, youth start looking up to these ‘rappers’. What Paris and Britney are for the girls, these guys are for the boys. And that’s not at all good. Let’s hope they all grow out of it.

if you saw something like a 1/3 of your community locked up, given long sentences, chewed up by the system, with their right to vote and change things taken from them, you wouldn’t snitch either. “cuz the judge is sayin LIFE like it ain’t someone’s LIFE”. they’re boycotting the legal system because it’s done them wrong.
