South Central

South Central have by some people been dubbed “the British Justice” and they have remixes/edits for the likes of Klaxons, Van She, Shitdisco, The Maccabees etc. under their belt. This track that we just received is one of their original tracks called “Revolution”, it will be released as a single on August 13th and it’s apparently limited to just 500 copies.

Fields remixes x 3

We received an e-mail today with these remixes of tracks taken from the british indieband Fields new album “Everything Last Winter”. To be frank we haven’t heard of the band before but we’ve definetely heard of two of the remixers before. The remixes are made by Badlands, SebastiAn (of Ed Banger fame) and by Ewan Pearson. The Badlands remix is more on the frantic side with a rock touch, the SebastiAn one is our favorite and bears his signature style of darker french electro while the Ewan Pearson remix stays lighter and stretches out beyond the nine-minute mark.

BONUS: Since we’re on the topic of Ed Banger artists, grab the Justice dj-set from when they recently played the Pink Pony party in Frankfurt over at the excellent Disco Dust. Also, be sure to read the interview since there’s some interesting stuff in there.

Strip Steve (exclusive)

Back in april we posted a killer remix of the Chromeo track “Fancy Footwork” done by a young french producer from Bordeaux named Strip Steve. Alot has happened since then and Steve is now signed to Boyz Noize Records where he’ll release an EP around october, he’ll also release a 7″ on hip french label Arcade Mode in august. This is one of his own tracks and it’s a Discobelle exclusive (it will be featured on an upcoming Vice France compilation that will be released at the end of june, coinciding with the magazine’s tour of France). This is full on electro goodness.

The Cribs

We got the new Cansei de Ser Sexy remix of The Cribs – Men’s Needs in the mail today. Cansei de Ser Sexy remixes tend to get a post on Discobelle so why break from tradition?

Pocketknife – New remix

Our buddy Pocketknife (we posted his fantastic Feist remix earlier this month) comes through once again with this remix of the White Magic track “The Gypsies Came Marching After”. This is a teaser for the forthcoming mix CD “Tambourine Dream”, which he’s doing together with Cousin Cole. The CD will drop later this summer and it will feature 17 or 18 Flagrant Fowl remixes of folk songs new and old.

Miami Horror

Miami Horror has been killing it for quite some time now with beats for Gameboy/Gamegirl and with his remixes of Midnight Juggernauts (the “Road To Recovery” remix can be found at Disco Dust), Tegan & Sara and Stardust but also with his own track “Don’t Be On With Her”. Now, he turns his remixing abilities to Codebreaker and their track “Exiled”. An album tentatively entitled “Bravado” is in the works so look out for that.
