Feist – Van She remix

We dj’ed in Stockholm last night and when we got back home today this Feist track was waiting for us (thanks to our friends in Radio Sidekick). Van She remixes the beautiful Feist track “1234″ that starts out rather quiet, then turns into a squelching and rocking electro track. It’s utter brilliance. This could be the best we’ve heard from the Van She camp since their Klaxons remix and this will most likely create havoc on dancefloors everywhere. The single will be released July 23rd.

    unrelated…..

I can’t get onto the fathertronix forum today for some reason? Does it have something to do with my recent hard drive re-format (!?) or are some other folks having this problem too???

(where else could I ask this q?)

I think you should head over to the blog that it was stolen from. They deserve the props, not “we got big by stealing from everybody else” Discobelle. Wankers.

  • Martin says:

    June 23, 2007 at 11:57

Mike: I think i’ll let Martin from Radio Sidekick answer that one. They’re our friends and we thank them in the post. Stolen=like they own the track… C’mon!

  • Mike says:

    June 23, 2007 at 18:59

You kn ow what i mean Martin, not stolen like in stealing from a shop. Of course they don´t own it, actually i think Feist´s label owns it. It´s just sad that some audio blogs can´t find their own stuff and needs to “steal” from others. Why don´t you mail the artist directly instead?

  • Martin says:

    June 23, 2007 at 19:53

Mike: I hope Feist owns the rights to her song but if i e-mail the artist and get the track from them then it would be OK? I mean, it’s the same track but my friend isn’t the source or if i just do a Google search for the song with zShare added then i wouldn’t steal it from anyone but the internet. “Some audio blogs can’t find their own stuff”, that’s just dumb and ignorant to the amount of work we put in to this blog. We get tons of stuff e-mailed to us that we post and we get stuff from forums and of course other blogs which are of course both thanked and linked. It’s the way the internet and thus also the way mp3-blogs works. This discussion has come up before and not only in regards to us but also to other blogs. Also to be frank, i’m pretty sure that you’ve commented on this topic here before and both we and the blog in question at that time had no problems with the song being posted on both blogs. It seems more like you for some strange reason have some sort of a problem with us. Maybe it’s jealousy, maybe it’s something else but don’t be a hater.

it’s pretty good, i wish it was just a lil more uptempo, and a lil more epic.

what was the first blog that posted it?

  • Martin says:

    June 24, 2007 at 11:11

Steve: We got it from our friends in Radio Sidekick and they’re acknowledged in the post. Don’t know if they were the first blog to post it or if they got it from someone else.

[...] TUESDAY, JUNE 26: I like to dance around my apartment to this song, so that’s what I’ll probably do on Tuesday night. There’s also the “Emo-Thug 2 Release Party.” I have no idea what that means but it sounds great. So does this reading series, Other Means. [...]

I love remixes. I remix stuff too – but for orchestra. Feists’s music is a really great choice – and the remix is sick! Very cool!
