Basutbudet

I’m back from France where i had a great time but now it’s back to the grind (well, sort of at least).

Basutbudet is the sideproject of swedish rapper/producer Mackan Price (from rap group Fattaru). Along with a few friends (including one of our favorites, Mapei, and Max Peezay), he does a swedish take on some of his favorite music styles including ghettotech, Miami bass, b-more, hyphy etc. that he calls “svensk bas” (=”swedish bass”). A double album entitled “Startpaketet/Pluspaketet” was released recently. This track that features Mapei is a Discobelle exclusive and you should check it.

    I love ghetto tech, and I think it’s cool that some of us scandinavians give it a shot, I guess this is a start or something. But I have to say I was disappointed after checking the myspace.It takes a bit more effort to make ghetto than just putting on a Paris The Black Fu-style fake beard.
