Unfortunately we don’t have a Mixin’ It Up for you guys today but instead we give you this weekend treat.

Our man Starkey (of Seclusiasis + Trouble & Bass fame) from Philly just put the finishing touches to “Street Bass Anthems Vol. 2” which we suggest you all pick up when it drops next week. In order to coincide with the release of the CD he also did a promo mix that’s absolutely ridicolous. So much heat on this that it will burn up your computer/stereo/mp3-player or whatever else you use to play your music. Grab this ASAP!

“After a string of vinyl releases and compilation appareances on labels such as Dead Homies, Werk Discs, Ruff, Slit Jockey, and Non Classical, Starkey steps up to the plate with his first official mixtape release! The streets have been banging the first installment of the series for a few months now and here Starkey is back with another round of fire. “Street Bass Anthems Vol. 2″ is a collection of all exclusive remixes and blends, in an un-mixed compilation style mixtape. This CD is boiling over with heat from Starkey and associates, such as Tactic, Elixir, Dev79, MOVES!!!, BD1982, Jason Carr, and more.”

The new Nico Vega limited single “Cocaine Cooked The Brain” drops this week on IAMSOUND Records (the band will also open for swedish rockers Shout Out Louds & Johnossi in October). The track was co-written and produced by Squeak E Clean (who produced the last Yeah Yeah Yeahs full length).

But the track we’re featuring today is the b-side remix that was made by the excellent Guns ‘N’ Bombs, who returns with a banger full of nasty stabs of electro. You can buy the single on iTunes or try to get one of the limited physical copies.

This track was played during the ending credits of latest “Entourage” episode and has become the talk of them internets this week. Kanye West + T-Pain = “Good Life”! Sounds like classic Kanye with a pitched up soul sample and of course the vocoder is present. This should have been released at the beginning of the summer, then we could have heard it on the radio during the hot summer days but also blaring out of every car and every kid’s cellphone.

Our buddy DJ Benzi sent over this track that’s a juke remix of the track that’s sweeping the world now, Soulja Boy “Crank Dat…”. He did this track with a legend from the Chicago juke scene, DJ Rashad. The track is featured on the upcoming dj-friendly compilation “Juke Jams” which consists of 15 juked new tracks along with some classics, it will drop on Turntable Lab next week. Chi-town stand up!

The amazing DJ A-Trak decided to share this with us yesterday. He did a up-tempo remix – complete with chopped up vocals and handclaps along with some twists and turns – of the much talked about Kanye West track “Stronger”. It’s perfect for getting down at the club and we like it a whole lot. (Now we’re just waiting to hear the whole “Graduation” album which includes that “Good Life” track that was featured in the latest episode of “Entourage”).
