my bad. didn’t realize there were some vocals at the end. pretty shitty on aoki’s part. amazing song and remix otherwise.
no thanks says:

Lame. How exactly did Steve Aoki go about remixing this track? Did he just put Pase Rocks vocals over Erol Alkans remix? Terrible.
Paperstacks says:
September 20, 2007 at 20:09
It’s just a track from a mix cd I doubt he’s going to try and get any remix credit from it.
The clues are all there in the post people!

you gotta check out one of the features in this weeks LA Weekly. Theres a pretty good article about the rise of justice, steve aoki, MIA, and the Klaxons – a so-called resurgence of disco (dancing) music
erikm says:

not to hate, but i don’t think aoki has any part production-wise in the “resurgence” of disco/electro fad. he has the name and cinespace and LAX sundays. thhaz about it
theoldthenew says:
September 21, 2007 at 00:36
this song is poor on aoki’s part.
but either way he is still a lord!
Franki Chan says:
September 21, 2007 at 01:33
terrible track.
sounds like pase’s vocals were recorded on garage band over a telephone and that there was no effort in inserting them in the track to make them sound good or even work. and the ‘mix’ into the next song isn’t anything more than a simple fade.
another perfect example of aoki appropriating and exploiting his friend’s and colleage’s fame and talent to suit his own needs while not doing them any justice (pun intended).

you know, at the end of the day, I’d love to see Steve do something (anything) amazing, but this isn’t it.
he needs to spend more time focusing on making a good product then trying to be cool.
and yes, DREAMBURGER are fucking rad.

dear discobelle:
stop spreading the misinformation of music by labeling this a “steve aoki remix” when in fact it is not.
this is why people shit on your blog. music blogs serve to give information and new music to the public at hand. and you guys seem to always mislabel shit out of either a. ignorance or b. because you just don’t give a fuck. it would serve you better to come CORRECT in your posts and have a gold standard when it comes to your blog…
sincerely,
naw naw son you got it all wrong.

thanks sim fitty for the heat -that bloodbath track is sick – and naw naw son, what is the name of your blog anyway – blogs are about progress not perfection. I want to hear new music, I come here. I want to hear whining that not everything in the world or on Discobelle is perfect, I go to naw naw son’s house and sit with him and his momma on the couch and wring my hands about the sad state of the world where misinformation exists and mistakes happen.

naw naw son says:

its not about things being perfect. its about dumbass kids running around saying “hey did you hear the steve aoki remix of justice with pase rock” when steve didnt do anything but ask pase rock to rap over a justice instrumental (technically erol alkan’s re-edit) it helps discobelle to post something properly labeled so the proper people get the proper credit. it also fuels any hate that someone like steve aoki may or may not unjustly deserve. after all Steve never asked for credit from this, he’s just putting out a mixtape via a large record company. get your paper steve fuck the haters.

This conversation is horrible. I hate that someone is using ‘DJ Spoony’ as a handle as I can catagorically state that it’s not ‘the one in wikipedia’. He would never speak to anyone like that, so it’s rubbish that someone is pretending to be him.

DJ Spoony used to be my upstairs neighbour in North London, and he’s a diamond geezer. He even came to my local to see my crappy little solo acoustic (guitar/mic) set. Sweet bloke, our Spoony!
