Freakz (check their MySpace for more cool stuff) are having a festival over the weekend, and the guys from Vice Magazine and Grolsch Block Party have set up a nice little VIP-thing on Friday between 22-23. We’ll be supplying the music and Grolsch the beer. Best of both worlds.

After that you can listen to Tommie Sunshine and Skatebård over at Inkonst. You know it’s going to be good.

If you want to grab a free ticket, get over to either Bagdad Livs (corner of Ängelholmsg/Kristianstadsg) or Tjallamalla (Davidshallsg 15) straight away! There’s a few hundred all in all so be quick.

The boys in Studio keep outdoing themselves. This time they remix the track “Brown Piano” by their British counterparts A Mountain Of One. Another epic soulful discoflavoured remix that seductively gets in your head and stays there for the 10-minute duration of the track and beyond.

Hot Chip are back with a new track entitled “Shake A Fist” but those of you who have seen them live know that it’s usually been a staple in their set. The track apparently features Todd Rundgren on vocals and is a prime example of Hot Chips slower electropop, it’s lined with a sqiuggly synth and some weird bleepy noises during the second half of the song and there’s even a chainsaw in there somewhere. It will be released on a limited 12″ sometime in September.

Our friend Kalle, who is one of the people behind on-point record label Hybris, sent us this video of the Familjen single “Det Snurrar i Min Skalle” and it’s seriously one of the best videos we’ve seen for a long time. Use some old religious footage, add the genius of director Johan Söderberg, the electropop of Familjen and voila!

Our friend Jonas (from the fine dj duo known as Rawdeluxeshit) is hosting the season premiere of his club Bump here in Malmö tonight. For those of you around we suggest you go there, for those of you out of town here’s a track that he did. An unholy yet excellent and highly entertaining alliance between the Claude Von Stroke remix of the accordion built summer electrohit, “Heater” by Samim, and our favorite Cuban-American rapper Pitbull. This is a banger and you need to bump it at the next party.

We were supposed to get a Mixin’ It Up from the ever so amazing Nick Catchdubs this week but unfortunately it’s been delayed. Instead we present you with this bumping mix he did for our buddy Gavins radio show In-deed, that airs on XMU Radio. We told you about the new project from Spank Rock and Benny Blanco entitled Bangers & Cash last week and now they’ve released another track about shaking your thang. “Bootay” features Black Betty from Kudu along with Santi White aka Santogold and they trade some raunchy rapping with Naeem. It’s been a while since we heard from him but now our canadian friend Drastik (of The Stylusts crew) sent this mix over. An extremely well executed and tight mix, as always from Drastik, that’s been on repeat here at the Discobelle office. This is a bit more on the mellow indie/electro side, mostly due to the fact that Drastik unfortunately went through some hard times in his life. It’s still something that you all surely will enjoy even though it’s not exactly intended for the club. Be on the lookout for some more great stuff from The Stylusts peeps coming soon.
