Rodion (Crookers remix)

We’re still struggling to recover from last nights party at Jeriko. Thanks to all the people that danced the entire night, although the condensed sweat that dripped from the ceiling was kind of nasty.

Anyway, on to the actual post. We here at Discobelle have been big fans of the italian marauders in Crookers for some time now and they never fail when it comes to doing massive tracks. Here’s a new remix they just did of the Rodion track “Electric Soca”, it’s included on the upcoming Rodion EP that’s being released by Gomma Records.

We got mail and we need help

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

You have probably noticed that we haven’t posted a we got mail in weeks. We just don’t have the time to listen to it all and post it.

So, this is what we had in mind. We want help from one of you each week to do the “We got mail”-post. You will get all mail that we get from people (we will still pick out stuff that we find extra interesting and post ourself) that week forwarded to you and we want you to pick out what mixes and tunes you like the most and think our readers would like to hear.

So what do you get out of this? You get the chance to get your own post on Discobelle! We know, that that is not much but we will let you do a presentation of yourself, plug a few tunes or mixes and pretty much write what you want as long as select the best music we get that week and do the post.

If this sounds like anything you want to be part of just send us an e-mail and we will get in touch with you.

We got people lined up to do we got mail for the rest of the year. If this works out good, more people will be able to do this next year.

Institubes Express parties

Our friends in the excellent french label Institubes are putting on two mighty parties called Institubes Express 999 this weekend, one at Fabric in London tonight and the second one in Paris tomorrow. The shows will feature the entire roster of artists on the label ie Surkin, Bobmo, Jean Nipon, Curses, Teki Latex, Orgasmic, Para One, Tacteel and Das Glow. That’s quite an impressive list and if you’re within a hundred miles of these cities then you better get over to the parties because they will most likely be totally insane.

To promote the events we give you the new Institubes anthem “Institubes Express 999″, David Rubato collaborates with Teki Latex and Manda Djinn to give us this banger.

What Is It

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Björn has bugged me for two weeks now to hook him up with the new Sean Kingston album. So I’m going to try to get him hyped for the Baby Bash Cyclone album instead (I know you liked the title track with T-Pain). “What Is It” is taken from the new album and is produced by JR Rotem.

Unfortunately we don’t have a Mixin It Up for you guys today but instead we can present you with a brand spanking new Daft Punk mix, that Thomas and Guy-Manuel just did for the Louis Vuitton Spring 2008 fashion show in Paris last week.

Mano tipped us off about this. Seems like Chicago is blowing up right now. We featured the hilarious Hollywood Holt track + video “Throw A Kit” a few months ago (and the Klever remix of “Caked Up” just a few days ago) and now we got his entire new mixtape for download.

Hail Social remixes

There’s so much great stuff dropping lately that it’s actually kind of hard to keep up.

We got a little Hail Social package in the mail. We start off with this funky remix from the fantastic Eli Escobar the other day, he’s agreed to do a Mixin It Up for us here at Discobelle so you can regard this as a teaser. We also got a remix from our friends in Philly, Crimp Yr Hair that’s dirtier and aimed for the electro dancefloor.

These remixes are taken from the upcoming Hail Social “Modern Love & Death Remixes” CD that features remixes from an insane group of remixers/producers including Nick Catchdubs, Plastic Little, The Cool Kids, Mano, Cosmo Baker, DJ STA, Crimp Yr Hair, Eli Escobar and many more. There will also be a Hail Social 12″ on Flamin Hotz Records later on.
