The fine folks at Plant Music brings us yet another Discobelle exclusive.

Kap10Kurt is K10k and Leah from Brooklyn, they just released the “Dangerseekers EP” which features a bunch of remixes by some top names such as Shinichi Osawa and Rolf Honey (aka Yuksek). If you’re into distorted electro then you’ll like Kap10Kurt. We give you the remix from french producer Tepr who adds some french flair to the track which is perfect if you need a peak-time banger.

Tetine, the sassy duo from Sao Paulo are getting ready to drop a new CD (their 9th!) entitled “Let The X’s Be Y’s” in the beginning of 2008. Their previous effort “L.I.C.K My Favela” was filled to the brink with sweaty party jams. They gave us an exclusive track for your pleasure, “Melo Do Geme Geme” gives us a taste of the world of Tetine where funk carioca with it’s sample heavy base meets the duos wayward punk meets funk attitude or as they put it: “we’re here for Tropical Punk, Miami Bass, experimental radio, punk funk, hysterical vocals, freestyle, feedback, filmmaking, performance, love songs, funk carioca, cheap tunes and noise”.

We haven’t heard of Plugs before, apparently they’re a british indiegroup. But then an e-mail containing this remix by hard working french producer Yuksek surfaced in our mailbox. Yuksek continues with his crunchy distorted electro (which we know and like), keeps some of the handclaps + vocals from the original version then brings in some breaks to get you on your feet.

It’s sunday and we need to relax a little bit over here at Discobelle HQ, last night we were absolutely floored by a great set from the fine gentlemen in The Glass (check their mix for us here). What a show, both Dominique and Glen showed off some amazing Serato skills. Anyway, is there a better way to unwind than provide you with some excellent music?

Chromatics have been blogged about before and they deserve all the hype. Best described as slow haunting neodisco with sparse arrangements and influences from italo, which makes this perfect for sundays at home. “In The City” has previously been featured on the “After Dark” compilation (released by our friend Mike Simonetti and his label Italians Do It Better) is one beautiful, hypnotic discosoul track with sweeping synths and whispered vocals. On the flip of the “In The City” 12inch we find their cover of the Bruce Springsteen track “I’m On Fire” and it’s currently one of our faves here at the Discobelle office. If you dig this then check out their recently released CD “Night Drive” which is a fitting title when you consider their music.
