how about the rise of Ableton and it’s influence on diplo.

When we’ve seen him dj, it’s been with records.

Sadly I’ve yet to see him DJ…every set I have by him though is a “studio” effort. The “rendered” in the file title is the evidence for ableton on this one.

Some good tracks, I like the Boy 8 bit.

Ain’t even just his solo stuff, you can her the difference in the MIA albums. First one sounds like it wasn’t even mastered, jsut popped outta live and thrown on disc all angular and shit. The second one is much warmer. Tight mix.

Are you saying he doesn’t have skills ’cause he uses Ableton? Anyone who’s seen him live knows that he is a legit DJ and always kills it. Ableton is an effective tool for this type of release and it’s here to stay, so why hate on somebody for using it?
Diplo isn’t Girl Talk. If it sounds good, it sounds good. No need for this DJ-purist-nerd-hate.
…nice mix, btw…

I love everything Diplo puts out.
His mixes are great, and he ALWAYS knows how to get the crowd going.
Plus, that Mad Decent party was amazing in-person.

Yo I ain’t hatin I use Abeton myself. I think Ableton’s the best thing to happen to electronic music since midi.

Dude, what you need to do is go grab yourself a copy of MIA’s first Album, and ah, read the production credits! You’ll find Diplo is responsible for one track and co-responsible for another, and that’s it!.. So I’m not quite sure how he would have been responsible for the record sounding “angular and shit”
Jeezus, go learn your shit before hating… you probably didn’t even buy the album, so can’t check the production notes. Ableton ain’t killing the scene. ignorance is.
