Pandemonium

Ever since they burst onto our radar with a bunch of mixes and spectacular dj-sets, which was followed up with the exquisite “Lyssnar” mix, we’ve been following the shenanigans also known as the duo Caps & Jones and they’ve kept putting out sweet mixes although sometimes way too far apart. Now, Jones or Pandemonium Jones has a new website and is currently undertaking the great American road trip. But that’s not all, he managed to put out a new mixtape/podcast for fresh Australian label Modular Records. It’s banging and deserves your attention.

No way we could let this one pass. The Clipse could very well be one of our favorite rap groups. Here they join forces with most of the roster on their label Re-Up Gang for a new single that’s taken from the upcoming DJ Drama hosted “We Got It For Cheap Vol. 3″ mixtape (the earlier two simply killed it).

MASH!

We got this in the mail yesterday, Nick Catchdubs dropping heat again. That Martin Brothers “Stoopit” track is ridiculously good!

“I made this a month or two ago to play out (right around when Flo-Rida dethroned Britney as “most persistent/inappropriate request of the evening”) and here it is at 320 with extended intro and outro for the deejays: “Low” over one of my favorite house tracks from last year. MASH! It’s gonna be on a new mixtape coming out next month (”Midnight Snack”), but enjoy it now.”

The album will be out on February 5th on Astralwerks/DFA and we need help to find the next book to read when we listen to it. So we want you to send in your best book recommendation (got to be a book released in 2007 or 2008).

The Prize:

Ready for the Floor 12″

1. Extended Mix
2. Soulwax Dub
3. Jesse Rose Mix
4. Shake a Fist (Diplo Mix)

You got a week from now to enter.

And for our swedish readers:

Vi har även fått ett par 12or till våra svenska läsare så om ni efter att ni varit inne på den här sidan och lyssnat på titelspåret känner att ni vill ha en chans att vinna en tolva (”Ready For The Floor) och en sjua (”So Deep” och “With Each New Day”) är det bara att skicka in er bästa svenska bokrekommendation (måste vara en bok som kom ut 2007/2008).

En vecka har ni på er.

And finally we got a winner in the Justice competition. Olle and his son Philip Justice Isaksson took home the prize.

Our anniversary week wouldn’t be complete without the inclusion of our favorite production/dj crew from down under. The crazy guys in Bag Raiders release their “Remixed EP” on Bang Gang this week. We proudly present the cinematic electro reworking of “Nil By Mouth” by fellow countryman Knightlife. (The EP also features remixes from Whitenoise, ZZZ and the crew themselves)

The fabolous Phra & Bot AKA Crookers gave us a nice little birthday gift. Their crunk remix of “Gasolina” by those crazy brazilians in Bonde Do Role has already been around and is wrongly featured on the vinyl. This version, with its solid bassline and Switchesque flavour, was supposed to be on the remix EP and has previously been unavailable (well, apart from their MySpace) so we hope you enjoy it. Don’t forget to check out their “Knobbers EP” that will drop soon on Southern Fried Records.

This is the world exclusive premiere of the video for the Claude Von Stroke track “Who’s Afraid Of Detroit”. “Shot during last year’s Detroit Electronic Music Festival, it incorporates footage from his performance at the Beatport stage with a moody montage of Detroit scenes.. It’s a true love letter to the city”.

Check out more from the Dirtybird Records camp here and buy their music on Beatport.
