NY’s finest Eli Escobar giving us some mid-week heat with his remix of the classic 45 King track “The 900 Number”. The track also features a gues appearance by the one and only Pasey Pase, this just puts a big smile on our faces.

Beeper (Detboi remix)

Domino just dropped this in our mailbox. “Beeper” looks to keep going strong in 2008 with a slew of remixes (both A-Trak and Fake Blood have already given us some serious heat with their efforts). Detboi gives us his choppy bassfilled take on the club banging ode to beepers made by one of our favorite UK production teams. They’re known as Count Of Monte Cristal & Sinden, a dynamic duo that should need no further introduction.

Sorry guys.

Dominique from Plant Music and The Glass just gave us clearance to post this. Dave Gahan released his solo album “Hourglass” last year and now we get the “Hourglass Remixes” CD. The CD features previously blogged remixes from among others Booka Shade, Digitalism and many more. Kap10Kurt are starting 2008 strong, they’re about to embark on tour in Europe and Japan + they were featured in the URB Magazine as “Next 100 Artists to watch”. Here, they add a little flair to the synthy sounds of the Depeche Mode front man but keeps the originals feel.

Plimsouls - Make Your Own Mistakes (exclusive)

Monday, March 24th, 2008

We’ve featured Plimsouls before on Discobelle but he deserves more posts. He’s got a remix on the new Alphabeat single “10000 Nights” and is constantly putting out new and great stuff (his “Cobrastyle” remix is crazy). This time we’ don’t have a remix from Plimsouls, instead he sent us his latest original track “Make Your Own Mistakes”. Enjoy!

We got mail (week 13)

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Another week of a full inbox and fun! This is rick re:action once again. I hope you enjoy my second of three weeks here picking through the Discobelle flood of mail:

Man, I wish I had a copy of “The Manual.” Thankfully with tracks like this first one I can reach some understanding of it without actually having it in front of me. B.G. The Prince Of Rap aka Bernard Greene’s “This Beat Is Hot” remixed by Toronto’s DJ Matt Medley (The man behind Remix This!). A little somethin’ somethin’ for all you old school b-boys & b-girls out there.

And the video for the original for those feeling nostalgic

Next Massive Face comes with a nice remix including some Splack Pack on there (hard to refute the use of that):

While we’re jamming on that party vibe, here is a remix by DJ Jesse Jamz:

Ocelot - Our Time (Jesse Jamz Fuck U mix) (zShare)

Switchin’ it up a little, a nice minimal/tech house mix comes our way from Roy Monster:

Yeah, we know that “Nite Nurses” from Portland duo Glass Candy made the blog rounds in the middle of the week but it’s too good to pass up. Also, it fits perfectly on a lazy sunday after last nights crazy party with DJ Sujinho. (Thanks to Discodust)

Kazey & Bulldog teaser

Kazey & Bulldog have been featured here on Discobelle before (and their tracks are staples in our dj-sets) since they pretty much have no competition when it comes to B-more/ghetto remixes. There’s been way too many sloppy club remixes released unto to the internet in the past year but everything this French duo produces just kills it. Top class! Here’s a little press snippet about their “Dirty Wheels EP” (get your digital copy over at Clek Clek Boom):

“Coming straight outta Paris, Kazey & Bulldog are currently basking in the glory of their “Dirty Wheels EP” on Dress 2 Sweat - the best club record you’ll hear this side of Baltimore. The lead track “Big Truck” has already been licensed to DJ Craze’s “Fabric mix” CD, and has been played out heavily by the likes of Sinden, Scottie B, Tittsworth, who describes the limited edition picture disc as “absolutely bullet proof from beginning to end”. Other tracks include banging remixes of Liquid’s Rave classic “Sweet Harmony”, played by Surkin, Philippe Zdar, Feadz… “Give It Up” by Twista & Pharrell (featured on the “Menage A Trois Ed Banger Mixmag” CD) and a hype hype refix of Lil Jon’s “Snap Yo Fingaz”. Anyway… This shit is bananas.”

J2K and Autobot AKA Chi-town duo Flosstradamus are back after a brief hiatus. Their recent remix of Jokers Of The Scene track “Y’All Know The Name” is a ravey monster and here they beef up the Heartsrevolution track “CYOA” (the EP will be released on April 15th by IHEARTCOMIX Records and features remixes from among others Brodinski, Lazaro Casanova and CFCF).
