Sally Shapiro vs. CFCF (updated)

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Both Swedish italodisco princess Sally Shapiro and Canadian electro producer/dj CFCF should be well known for any regular Discobelle reader. Now, they join forces on the excellent track “Time To Let Go” which is lifted off the recent digital only Sally Shapiro album “Remix Romance vol. 2″. Swirling eighties synth lines along with Sallys pretty vocals makes this a keeper.

Buzzin!

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Shwayze’s track from last year is getting mad love right now and is climbing the charts. I already loved this laidback track but this remix from Skeet Skeet adds some more life to it. Bang! Bang! 310, stand up!

It's OK Now (Funk of Fury Remix) (exclusive)

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

sax

The Malmö dj Wilsson Soto along with Jonas and Jesper from Rawdeluxshit put their minds together and did a afrobassfunk remix of Sofie Hellborg’s “It’s OK Now”. It’s gonna be released on Ajabu Records.

The track “It’s OK Now” is taken from Sofi Hellborgs new record “Drumming Is Calling” that drops tomorrow.

Its positive message and feel good vibe made a terrible day a bit easier to cope with.

Enjoy!

New Judas vs Top Billin

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

New Judas and Top Billin releases a new split EP with tracks from both camps. New original songs by Top Billin, Downtown and Les Gillettes on saturday. And to celebrate they are throwing a party at the infamous Villa in Berlin. The Villa was a good place to celebrate New Years Eve and should be the perfect spot for a releaseparty.

They were kind enough to let us share one of the tracks.

Downtown - Breath (zShare)

We also got this battlemix made by Les Gillettes and Downtown.

Update: This is actually only the New Judas part of the mixtape. We are still missing the Top Billin part but hopefully we’ll get it during the day!

Nacho Lovers edit

There must be something in the water over there in Canada, we here at Discobelle have been posting tons of artists from the fair country and it just seems to be an endless supply of top notch producers/dj’s.

You might have heard about Nacho Lovers when they’ve dropped their incredible remixes and edits on the unsuspecting blogosphere. Their housey remix of the Jokers Of The Scene track “Y’all Know The Name” is stellar and our favorite out of the bunch. They are about to release their debut record come summertime, “Go On/Acid Life EP” will be out on on Fools Gold Records (who seem to be scooping some of the hottest names in the game). This funky chopped up edit (it even throws some Cutty Ranks vocals on top) of that Style Of Eye track “The Big Kazoo” is just what we needed to get by the rest of the week.

Remember 1985?

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Sam Roqwell and I Sancho make sure you do with their remix of Junior’s 1985 club hit “Do You Really (Want My Love)”. If you watched Beverly Hills Cop you’ll remember this, it was on the soundtrack one year before it came out on it’s own. The Heat Is On!

James Pants

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

James Pants is sort of on the more cosmic spacey italdisco side of the electro spectrum (apparently, he’s been dubbed by among others Busy P as “the next big thing to watch for in 2008″). This is his new single “We’re Through” which is taken from his new full-length album “Welcome” (out in May on Stones Throw). James Pants has been described as “a purveyor par excellence of that unmistakable “fresh beat”: 80’s Soul, Electro Boogie, Early Rap, New Wave, & Post-Punk Disco inspired by the likes of Skyy, Cameo, Pharrell, Egyptian Lover and Cybotron”.
