It makes sense. The dude was a convict….running away in the middle of a drought. He was very thirsty and the Native Americans made a rain dance to bring water. A little crude but serves the purpose.
But I still like what White Mike said.

If you hear closely, there is a subtle sound that sounds like music played from Native Amrican musical instrument.
Its sounds much like the xylophone used in Safri Duo’s Baya Baya.
