DJ Manaia

I’ve been waiting for a good opportunity to post something from this cool dude since I’ve played his edits for a long time now. He’s a very productive remixer and producer and he got tons of stuff on his own blog aswell as on his myspace. Richardo aka Manaia runs the dopest party in Lissabon aswell as dj’ing all over. Today he sent us three original tracks that are all killers and he even gets support from the talented Deize Tigrona on one of the tracks.

Smalltown Romeo

Just got this press-release from our friends in Smalltown DJs and what better day to post it when one of the track has a Halloween touch.

We are launching our new production project called Smalltown Romeo. Featuring Smalltown DJs & Wax Romeo (both of Bigfoot/Hai Karate Records). We are all about not taking ourselves too seriously – we just want to make fun dance music. We are mad excited to have the best time ever, play our chunes and party with everyone everywhere sometime in the near future.

SMALLTOWN ROMEO IS A GOOD FEELING.

First of is their “Halloween Theme”:

Necromaniac (with love to Josh Wink) – Smalltown Romeo

Also a BONUS TRACK:
MSTRKRFT – Bounce (Smalltown Romeo Remix)

Also – here is a re-up of the Smalltown Discobelle Mix

And – here is a Wax Romeo minimix as well

Genghis Tron (CFCF remix)

Time for another smooth remix from our favorite Montreal disco producer CFCF. This time he adds some of his magic to the Genghis Tron “Recursion”, giving it a slow drive and keeping the atmospheric feeling.

The track originally appears on the Lovepump United release “Board Up The House Remixes Volume II”.

CFCF will soon be releasing his debut vinyl release, a limited edition double a-side 7″, and it’s up for preorder on Acéphale Records. Also, he’s about to finish up a Mixin’ It Up for us here at Discobelle so check back for that since we have a feeling it’s going to be essential.

gen;lon – Canada

The new single “Canada/Berlin” from Swedish duo gen;lon (Richard Gensollen and Jonas Lönnå) is the third release from the Stockholm based label and DJ/artist management Koloni Records. The single is on some housey minimal techno tip and has already gained support from among others legendary dj Laurent Garnier + Swedish DJ-duo Housewives. Nils Westerlund and Oscar Wedrén are perhaps better known for their work with production collective Le Choix but this remix of “Canada” sees them transforming the original track into an eerie techno jam with Balkan-style synths.

Dre Skull embarks on a three week Asian tour that starts this week when he headlines Vice’s Halloween party in Tokyo.

Also, check out his new remix for Mad Decent’s non-profit off-shoot, Heaps Decent. “Bangin drums and heavy bass with plenty of swagger for your sets.” (Thanks to RCRD LBL)

NOV 2 Vice Party, Osaka

Rich Boy – Drop

Rich Boy back with the track “Drop”, it features Polow Da Don and was apparently produced by Cha-Lo ie the guy that didn’t get credit for “A Milli”. (Thanks to The Fader via On Smash)

Claire Hux

Our buddy DLake (previously mentioned here) just e-mailed us some new stuff.

Texan producer/dj Bird Peterson did this bouncy remix of the track “Holy Ghost In The Club” from DLakes live group Claire Hux (they just signed to Unruly Records). They call themselves a party rap group with a live show more resembling some of those early 90′s groups such as Bel Biv Divoe, Kid n Play, Fresh Prince of Bel Air but with more syncopated dances and goofy lyrics.

Claire Hux also have a brand new mixtape coming out in a few weeks, mixed by the one and only Scottie B.

Timbuktu (ft. Frej & Supreme) – 6an

There is a new Timbuktu album coming out on the 5th of November called ”En high 5 & 1 Falafel”. The first track we heard from the album was released on the famous Swedish site Pirate Bay and was not what I expected at all. On this second leak from the album he gets some help from Frej (Slagsmålsklubben, Maskinen & Far & Son) and Supreme (Looptroop) and if you like the sound of Maskinen and Far & Son you will be a fan of this track too. But I can’t help but to feel that Timbuktu gets killed on his own track here and Timbuktu aint bad on it. Looking forward to this album, it seems to be a lot different from what we heard from Timbuktu before.

Pre-order Timbuktu’s new cd ”En high 5 & 1 Falafel” here.

Kenneth Bager (Jesse Rose remix)

Danish label Music For Dreams worked with Berlin based producer/dj Jesse Rose on this smoothed out and groovy remix for Kenneth Bager (who is apparently a cultural icon in Denmark and he’s been around since the mid-eighties). The track also features vocal offerings from singstress Julee Cruise (who most of you should know from that Twin Peaks track). You can purchase the whole thing here!
