I expected more. Sounds like some pretty routine lyrics for such a monumental moment in history.
Didn’t piss me off like Kanye did yesterday on CNN, though. He snuck in an obviously sponsered iPod plug… which completely cheapend the occasion.
Disgusting. If this were ’89, Chuck D and KRS would have written a poignant and hardhitting song… not just another Young Jeezy track that happens to start out “My president’s black…”

shows how much I know about has been ATL rappers. Jeezy’s sucked since TRAP OR DIE and Jody Breeze shits all over his boring same flow the say ‘yeahhhhh’ formula. In fact, Killer Mike shits all over both of them. Nas’ last good album was ILLMATIC – so if this qualifies as a banger I must be getting old. I save the term ‘banger’ for shit like Laroo’s “Gucci Bag” or the Cool Kids… you know shit that actually BANGS.
And KRS and Chuck are pretty much dead, or at least m.i.a. in the big picture (KRS is still trying to peddle that TEMPLE OF HIP HOP jive and Chuck just political blogs with Davy D or someting). It’s a shame too – I thought one of them would be mayor of New York by now.
