Too Many Dicks Not Writing Their Own Stuff

Seems like Flight Of The Conchords listens to Baltimore club music. Inspiration is cool but give credit! Check out Dlake and the other dudes in Claire Hux, they are constanly touring and bringing the party.

these songs bear no resemblance what so ever besides the words

too many dicks on the dance floor.

which is not an original thought by any means, ive heard people say it years ago.

    so yea…….

Haha! Lmao, that’s really funny. I wouldn’t say the Concords aren’t writing their own stuff, even though I’ve heard people say “too many dicks on the dance floor” for years. I salute the Concords for having made a techno song based around it.

This may be why the Conchords are called a parody act.

  • Antti H says:

    February 17, 2009 at 23:05

So should Claire Hux be mad about this? Come on! It’s a tribute anyway…to CH or/and to the phrase. Conchords are not ripping anyone off here.

    mannnn
people been sayin that for years… if anything they both stole it.

    Claire Hux sux anyways.

  • Dirtay Dishraggs says:

Quit swinging from Clair Hux’s ballsack.

Conchords wrote their own shit based on a phrase that has been around for eons.

Need I mention, their cheesy psudo dance track CRUSHES Clair Hux’s bullshit.

    lolling @ b-more and “originality”

  • hrdina says:

Never heard of Claire Hux and don’t really like FOTC, but Hux’s track isn’t very original at all, especially their samples. There really isn’t an argument here. It’s like all those people who criticize Justice or Daft Punk because they just sample old songs that no one listens to.

can you commenters read?? the video clearly said…if they DID get influenced by Claire hux, then it’s a compliment! there’s no hating there!! only by you fools….tell me, what you YOU doing with your lives???

    exactly.

    marissa,

can you read the title of this post?

  • Kristian says:

    February 18, 2009 at 08:17

Well, I agree that the title is a bit harsh. But it was an obvious one and I thougt it was funny. I’m a big fan of Claire Hux and have been for a long time now and love the track. I can’t see what all the h8ers are about come on join the party!

BTW: I’m also a big Flight of the Concords fan and I can’t know for sure if they have heard Claire Hux at all but I wanted to bring some attention to the situation. If anyone from the FOTC crew takes offence give me a shout and tell me your side of the story! I promise to be open and objective.

    lol

  • Powerless Octagon says:

I personally think it’s a coincidence, but it’s still funny. I laughed at Claire Hux’s version, and laughed again at FOTC version. It’s good entertainment. Claire Hux Posers? Not sure about that one. I’ve seen them perform about 3 times now and everytime they’ve out on a great show. I’m not sure where that comes from especially you guys must not have seen them live yet.

Also, those crotch glitterballs are totally ripped off of Electric Six! :D

  • Your Mom says:

    February 18, 2009 at 20:59

There is an even easier response to this. Episode 5 of Season 2 of FOTC was filmed before the Claire Hux track was released. Nuff said.

  • Powerless Octagon says:

    February 18, 2009 at 23:26

Well there you have it. still love both tracks.

  • Cultron the Magnificent says:

    Fuck Claire Hux.

  • Ryan e says:

They are indeed a parody act. Bowie resembles Bowie’s songs, I’ve fallen in love resembles a rap song called something like samegirl with I think kanye west… And I’m sure more of there songs play on different types of music. This certainly wouldn’t be them not using their own ideas.
