Remix Amanda Blank

Downtown Records are running a remix competition with Amanda Blank. Since we know we got a lot of upcoming producers around here we thought we might give it a push.

“Producers, DJs, and Remixers: Downtown Records wants to hear your remix of Amanda Blank’s “Might Like You Better“. Join the ranks of fellow Amanda Blank producers Diplo, Armani XXXChange, and Dave Sitek. The 5 best submissions will appear on a RCRD LBL feature, the Downtown Records website, the Amanda Blank Official Website, the Amanda Blank Myspace, Facebook, and Imeem Profiles. The selected tracks will receive the benefit of the full weight of Downtown Records promotion. This is not only a great opportunity to remix a great performance off of Amanda Blank’s upcoming Record, “I Love You”, it’s also an opportunity for aspiring producers, remixers, and DJs to get exposure for their underappreciated work.”

Awesome party in Berlin tonight

Our friends at Awesome over at Villa in Berlin are putting together another one of their world class parties tonight, this one looks absolutely smashing. Appearing are among others: Canadian duo Thunderheist, new German hope Schlachthofbronx, Glasgow producer Boom Monk Ben, the famed DJ Wool, Berlin techno mad man Rampa and a whole bunch of other cool people. To promote the night we’ve got a little exclusive goodie bag of tracks from the Schlachthofbronx boys. Check them out below and if you’re in Berlin this is the place to be tonight.

First out we have the new collaboration between Schlachthofbronx and Spoek Mathambo (of Sweat X and Playdoe fame) + Big Space (AKA Slush Puppy Kids) which is called “Nastybass”, then we have the kuduro version of the classic AC/DC track “Hells Bells” done up by the Schlachthofbronx crew. Last but not least we got a bunch of original tracks and remixes.

Mixin’ It Up: Outlaws

We are back on track with the Mixin’ It Up series, so here is this weeks installment. All the way from Australia we got Outlaws who you can find on tour in Europe right now. He didn’t stop at one mix but gave us two killer mixes. Here we go! (we had to put the track descriptions after the jump because it would have been too big else way.

“So here’s my mix. I’m glad you let me do it and I hope you enjoy it, I had fun making it, the first few mixes are slightly awkward, but hey, I wanted to get some weird stuff in there and if you don’t try, you don’t get anywhere do you? Hopefully there will be some things on here you haven’t heard before so you can find some great new sounds and maybe go to some shows, have a good time, meet some people, put some money in the system and keep the whole thing going a bit longer.

I’ve gone and made two mixes here – one of them is a out and about ravey affair with noises you might hear in nightclubs and the other one is something you might want to put on when you get home, perhaps in an advanced state of refreshment, wanting to “relax” or “chill out”, perhaps?

Outlaws – Mixin’ It Up for Discobelle Part 1: An Insult To Reality, May 2009 (Sharebee)

Outlaws – Mixin’ It Up for Discobelle Part 2: Lush, May 2009 (Sharebee)

That’s about it from me. If anyone wants to book me in Sao Paulo please get in touch, I’ve never been there and apparently they’ve banned all advertising in the city and it’s totally wild with loads of art everywhere. I’d like to thank the lovely Morgan for providing the voice for the second CD, her funny stories made me laugh and I hope they make you smile too! I hope anyone who downloads this enjoys it anyway – be excellent to one another and party on dudes!”

Read a description on why he choose each track after the jump.
