Lost Valentinos – Thief (Shinichi Osawa remix)

Summer days are here and we’re glad we got this pumping new track from Australian 5 piece Lost Valentinos (we remember them from the “Bismarck EP” on Bang Gang 12 Inches), to help us through slow and hot days like these. The new single “Thief” just dropped and this remix we just received comes from Japanese demon electro producer Shinichi Osawa (other remixes courtesy of Nile Delta, The Death Set, The Aspirins for My Children). Their new album “Cities Of Gold” was produced by Ewan Pearson and will be out on etc etc in September.

Endiamonds – Absence

In Sweden we celebrate a holiday called Midsummer. It’s entails drinking schnapps, eating pickled herring, and dancing around a pole full for flowers and leaves. I know, it’s weird. But that’s what we do.

Anyway, for this years festivities I was in the Gothenburg archipelago and went to see the band playing. I was expecting bad Metallica covers but to my surprise they were actually really good. They’re called Endiamonds and have that Swedish West coast sound – a little TTA, a little Air France. Unfortunately their recordings don’t quite match their live performance, but we think this could be a gem worth keeping an eye on.

Solo – Fabriclive Promo Mix

IMG_1251-1(2)
Solo is doing his Fabric debut next weekend in the the “Batty Bass” room and he celebrate with a mix!

Solos got two massive tracks out at the moment. First his own “The Big Stef” with remixes from Nat Self (Zombie Disco Squad) and Riva Starr and second a remix of DJ Gregory and Gregor Saltos track “Con Alegria”. There is a big chance that both those tracks will be in our set this week. Buy both of them over at Beatport! There are preview videos for both tracks after the jump as well as a tracklist for the mix!

Midsommar festival in Berlin

Next weekend there is a three day Berlin City Festival called Midsommar. It features artist like Chicks on Speed, Totally Enourmous Extinct Dinosaurs, Al Doyle (Hot Chip) and many more.

Midsommar is something truly Swedish and the festival seems to have a Swedish touch with lots of swedish acts and dj’s. Agaric and Llopis are representing Malmös minimal scene to name a few. We are playing a banging summer set friday night between 2 and 4am. Hopefully we get some swedish peeps to take the cheap bus down to for a great party weekend!

Actually, if you are in Berlin and wanna say hello, talk about music and share tracks send me an e-mail on: kristian@discobelle.net.
And if thats not enough it’s also Berlin fashion week Bread and Butter at the same time.

Read what, always up to date, Skrufff is writing about the festival!

Mixin’ It Up: LOL Boys

LOL Boys is one frenchie, Jerome P aka Burntpiano and one mexican, Markus G aka Sirhan making tunes with influences ranging from world music to house to disco to straight up pop. They “placed” in the Passion Pit remix contest and the AC Slater remix contest and are planing to do an ep on acid jack’s “idiot house records”. But now they are here to do a Mixin’ It Up on Discobelle!

“For our mix we wanted to do something fast paced and dynamic enough to listen to multiple times and also showcase our influences. we think we cranked out a perfect mix to party to or even for working out. you’ll notice that even though we have a tracklist below that a lot of the mix is our own edits and our own branding. since there is two of us we can do a lot of work while djing like one of us can be blending on serato and the other can be running loops and effects in ableton and mixing stuff in on cdjs. this mix is also a good idea of how we’d play a sweaty summer time house party. hope you enjoy it as much we enjoyed making it.

LOL Boys – Mixin’ It Up for Discobelle (zshare)

They also gave us a couple of bonus tracks to give away:

LOL Boys – Cash For Gold (direct link)

Cassius – Feelin’ for you (LOL Boys Club mix) (Zippyshare)

Ursula 1000 – Star Machine (LOL Boys lunch @ hot dougs remix) (zShare)

Tracklist for the mix:

Fagget Fairys – Roll the Dice (LOL Boys Remix) -cdr
starting our mix of with one of our newest remixes. it’s a good example of our dynamic blend of club, techno and pop influences.

Marc Houle – Bay of Figs (minus42lp)
marc houle is one of the best techno producers ever and bay of figs is a classic track that will convince techno/minimal haters to reconsider.

Nifty – Nifty (atlantic jaxx recordings)
basement jaxx are constantly and consistently groundbreaking and ahead of their time.

M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade – Body Language (get physical)
hands down one of the catchiest synth riffs ever.

Ursula 1000 – Zombies – Hijack Remix (esl)
hijack makes a banging house track with repetitive chanting lets you know it’s time to chug those drinks and get on the floor.

Speedy J – Pullover (music man)
actually a tune released in the 90s from a dutch producer that is so simple and effective. it also exists as either a dance mania track or stripped down hardcore track.

Kingdom – You (fool’s gold/acephale)
look out for this dude. first introduced to me through nightslug’s Bok Bok and Johnny Moog’s dj prince william. brooklyn boy kingdom is making 2009 freestyle. so catchy frat bros are singing along one minute in to the track.

Emynd – it’s hot down here (crossfaded bacon)
eymnd is a genius clubbing up NOLA bounce’s classic trigger man sample.

L-Vis 1990 – Compass – (cdr)
every tune this dude makes lately ends up in our must play crate. this is the point in the mix where we start getting a little more into the percussive world music tracks.

Douster – Ladinian – (cdr)
futuristic cumbia sampling busy signal. tracks like this are really starting to influence our sets.

DJ Gant-Man – Juke Dat Girl -Greenmoney Remix (fools gold)
gant-man is a chicago juke legend. it’s nice to be able to drop greenmoney’s remix because it has that element of uk funky in it.

Zombie Disco Squad – The Cursed (made to play)
these dudes are amazing. making simple percussive house with tribal-esque influence. a banger.

LOL Boys – Oh Boy -cdr
this is us getting down. making some world music inspired percussive house but with that dirty ghetto house-ish vocal sample.

Auto Repeat – You Can’t Stop (crammed music)
DJ Elin is often overlooked. Everyone should go buy The Unbearable Lightness Of Autorepeating.

Play Paul – Spaced Out – Xtended Mix (crydamoure)
Crydamoure is a legendary label. Brother of Guy Man from Daft Punk to boot.

Miike Snow – Animal- (downtown music)
We all know this by now.

Thomas Bangalter – Spinal Beats (Roulé)
We should all know this by now.

Duck Sauce – aNYway (fool’s gold)
A-Trak + AVH = Epic. Love how they flipped this sample.

Sparks – Beat the Clock – Giorgio Moroder Mix (virgin)
moroder produced this than remixed it. moroder era sparks is the best ever.

Yellow Magic Orchestra – Computer Games 12″ Mix (alpha records)
Look up youtubes to watch them play live. Top 5 songs of all time.

Big Dope P – Back to Da Old Future (moveltraxx)
This dude is from Paris but might as well be from Chicago.

Diskokaine – Bikini (DJ Funk Remix)
DJ Funk still killin it.

Dances With White Girls – Everyone’s Got to Make a Living (throne of blood)
Frog is a great man.

LOL Boys – Neon Flannel (cdr)
weird.

Afrojack & Diplo – How I Like It – Beataucue Remix (cdr)
Don’t know the full story on this. Think it is just Afrojack’s version of Pon Di Floor remixed by Beataucue. COOL.

Plastique De Reve – Resist – DJ Rampage Remix (supersoul records)
Heard the OG of this in the summer of ’08. Just got the record and was so pumped on a Rampage remix.

I Will Come Back

Green Label Sound just release their latest free track and this time it’s from Holy Ghost!. If you haven’t checked the page out you should definitely drop by.

“Known for their 2008 hit “Hold On,” remixes for the likes of Moby, MGMT, Phoenix and Cut Copy, critically-heralded Brooklyn duo Holy Ghost! is Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel. Friends since childhood, the pair grew up on NYC’s Upper West Side. Learning from NYC producers The DFA (aka James Murphy & Tim Goldsworthy), Holy Ghost! bring their love for old-school synthesizers to their new single, “I Will Come Back,” a five and a half-minute dance floor epic, featuring the angelic voices of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. This latest Green Label Sound single will also be featured on Holy Ghost!’s highly-anticipated debut album due out early next year on DFA Records.”

We Make It Good Volume 9: Paul Devro

Here is the latest mix in the We Make It Good remix series:

“If you are a one legged zombie dragging yourself through the jungle with a boombox strapped to your back, trying to get to the next latin oldies party at the bottom of a waterfall, then this mix is for you. Paul has been a dear friend of WMIG for a long time and we have too many stories involving werewolf masks, rabbit tacos, Andy Milonakis, breaking into pools at 5am, and late checkouts to fit into this post, so we’ll let the zombie anthem speak for itself. Little bit of Salem, little bit of Kelis, little bit of Mad Decent faves, Major Lazer; it’s all here just in time to sweat it out for summer!”
