Meleka – Go (video)

Official video for this big tune. Go is Melekas debut single and is produced by Crazy Cousinz. It was on our Grindin top ten already back in January and is finally released proper now in September. Australian “yacht house” duo Damn Arms are now sadly defunct but they leave us with a swan song. The “Destination remix EP” was released about a month ago by the fellas from Bang Gang 12 Inches and on it we find this discofied pearl of a remix from German producer Munk.

The Very Best – Warm Heart Of Africa remixes

The Very Best just finished storming across the US with a few much acclaimed live shows. They even managed to throw a Secousse party in New York, pitting NYC versus London.

Here are two new remixes by UK electronic trio Metronomy and Australian indie outfit Architecture In Helsinki of the title track (which leaked a few weeks ago and featured the vocal duties of Vampire Weekend singer Ezra Koenig) from their upcoming album “Warm Heart Of Africa”. Metronomy gives us a whole different take on the track replacing some vocals but incorporating a synthline and what sounds like a tweaked up sample of their single “Heartbreaker” with its strutty bass, meanwhile the Architecture In Helsinki crew focuses on the horns from the original to keep that warm and joyful feeling.

Sommarfesten and Simian Mobile Disco contest!

Simian Mobile Disco hits Sweden this weekend for the five year anniversary of Sommarfesten. The party is at a great location called Luftkastellet just below the mighty Öresundsbron. SMD is about to release their second full length album “Temporary Pleasure” in a couple of weeks and you have already heard the massive “Synthesise”, “10,000 Horses Can’t Be Wrong” and the latest single “Audacity Of Huge”.

Together with Mattias at Babel we get to hand out four signed promo EPs of “Audacity Of Huge”. The EPs will be handed out at the party and you also get free entrance! All you have to win is answer the following question:

Man Recordings Mixtape Series #1: Joyce Muniz

We received an e-mail from Vienna based but Brazilian born dj/mc Joyce Muniz which contained her first official mixtape “Mexe Mexe” which was done for the newly started Man Recordings artist mixtape series. It’s made in that tropical and funky afro/baile style, it will completely transform your mundane day into a superb party.

Here’s some more info from Man Recordings boss Daniel Haaksman on the mixtape series and Joyce’s mix:

“We just started a new mixtape series at Man Recordings. Every two months, the series will present the mixing skills and favourite picks from artists of the Man Rec Crüe.
As every gentleman´s motto is “Ladies first”, here’s the Man Rec Mixtape #1 by our beloved Joyce Muniz: It’s full of new and unreleased tropical heat from Solo to Riva Starr, Man Rec classics re-edited, to new baile bangers and house shakers – a mix perfect to grind your sun tanned bodies at the pool.
