Example – Won’t Go Quietly Remix Comp

We just ended a remix competition and what better thing to do then to start up another one. This time we team up with Ministry of Sound for a killer remix competition. We want you to get remixing and twist Example‘s “Won’t Go Quietly” into your own master piece.

You got until December 28th to hand in your remix. So when you are done, upload your track to a upload service and send them here.

Ministry of Sound and Discobelle will then pick our favourite remix. One winner will get the following prize:

Digidesign M Box 2 (£350) soundcard including Pro Tools 8 software

and

M-Audio CX 5 speakers (£500 a pair)

As well as the winning remix will be promoted by the Ministry of Sound team to their specialist DJs/radio DJs/blogs etc…They will also add the winner to their remix roster for future remix projects.

We are looking for people to be completely open minded – do what you want and deliver something interesting! Any genre welcome – and as much or as little of the vocal as you see fit!

    Okay…
Many of us have worked so hard on the remixes… We are fucking tired of waiting around for the winners… It doesn’t take you 26 days to pick out winners!!! TELL US ALREADY!!! OMFG!!!

  • anonymous says:

I think this is just some ploy to get all of us looking at this website again and again, waiting and checking up for the winner so DB can increase the number of views, I know, I have checked on here numerous times EVERY DAY for nothing. After All – there is no mention of the competition on ministry of sound’s website at all – SCAM BY DB!!!!

    Hi guys,
martin’s quote , “we’re still waiting for this. Hope you understand that it’s not really up to us when the winners are announced. We can only ask Ministry Of Sound.”

I agree it’s taking a while, but the tracks official release was only recently maybe M.O.S don’t wont this competition to clash!
regarding the obove comment, this is not a scam, were would they of got the example track stems from?

Jeez, relax people. It’s not a scam. We’re hosting the comp but that’s it. The winners are chosen by Ministry Of Sound, and they’ll reveal the winners when they’re ready.

Seriously people, these things take time. Look at the 121 comments for this post and then just imagine the amount of remixes that were sent in. We’re in the hands of the label here and we wish we could have announced a winner a long time ago but once again, it’s not up to us. There’ll be a post with the winning contribution within 5 minutes of the name landing in our mailbox.

  • Yeah says:

    January 28, 2010 at 17:19

Some of you guys are acting like stuck-up brats.. These people are busy. Obviously no one has ever dealt with a real record label before. Things take time. Stop whining.. There can only be one winner anyways so spare us with the complaining

Not being ungrateful or anything on this one, and i agree on what was said by “Yeah” but Niklas, you told us that today would be the day but i guess there’s more delay right? Any news on this? Cheers & keep up the good work!

  • no name says:

    January 28, 2010 at 23:40

yeh, totally agree with “Yeah” and “dantez” – you can’t be bitchy like that, but you’ve made a public event and then expect to put hundreds of us ‘on hold’ because people are ‘busy’. To me, its seems you have defeated the objective – I mean, who want’s to win a contest now over such negativity??

  • Global Beatz says:

    January 29, 2010 at 02:55

FYI, i was “yeah” i just was typing so fast that i forgot to input my name and all.. but regardless of who wins we should thank discobelle, ministry of sound, example, and data records for giving us a chance to display our skills. This is by far one of the best remix contests i’ve seen online and to degrade discobelle for hosting it is really shitty. These people didn’t have to offer us anything at all and i hope that they aren’t reluctant to do anything like this again just because a few people started to talk negative.

nothing would have been trouble if an annunciation deadline is set. for example: 2010.05.20. :) we would wait for it in beautiful silence.
and if it is a “real record label” – with Yeah’s words – observes the deadline then.
    very simple. it’s my opinion.
    hi!

  • Martin says:

    January 29, 2010 at 12:50

No name: No, i don’t expect anyone to be put on hold. But the fact is, we’re only hosting the contest. If you have any issues regarding lack of information and delays then go to the right source.

  • Snapdragons says:

    January 30, 2010 at 03:44

i agree with global beatz, sure we have all worked hard on the remixes and want to know who wins but these guys dont focus 100% of their time on running remix competitions. This was an awesome competition and you can still wait in silence without a deadline for announcing it, i suspect that they would not have set a date because there was no way of knowing how many people would enter.

the only annoying thing about this, is we could of had more time to tweak the mixes! the plot thickens!
