Dillon Francis Picture

Dillon Francis

Dillon Francis is an up and coming producer/dj from Los Angeles, and is also the latest addition to the Plant Music roster. He’s really on top of his game and has been hard at work in the studio and we’ve got the results of those sessions for you right here at Discobelle. We’ve got a gritty original track entitled “Hi-Fi”, two hard hitting dubstep remixes of Amanda Blank and Flosstradamus both of them executed flawlessly. To top the whole thing off we got a dj mix called “Rude Enough” done exclusively for us at Discobelle.

1:51 is too long to wait for the first dub break in the not-so-genre-specific Flosstradamus remix. I found myself thinking I WAS stuck with a techno trash track up till that point, and afterwords it never managed to, “pon de flor,” so to speak.

As a whole, I guess genre mixed dub with a lot of glitchy breaks isn’t so unexpected. But point number one has to be a better blend of the low end bass ambiance (The hallmark of dub step and what makes it so damn grimy yet entrancing at speeds as low as 60 bpm) with the rhythmic uptempo hooks of the songs getting remixed. My two cents is all.

[...] The intro could’ve been a minute shorter but the drop is excellent anyway. For more tracks and a first-rate mix, head over to Discobelle. [...]
