LOL Grindin must be really struggling if you’ve got wannabe producers like Bok Bok in your top 20. How can any of these tracks be the best tracks of the year??? This whole network of backslapping and mutial promo is becoming a joke. Nobody believes your hype and your whole scene will collapse in 2010.

i think this list is put together so people will appear cool through their music tastes.

  • observer says:

    December 23, 2009 at 16:32

shut up, if that was the case, then hyph mngo and pon di floor would be too pretty obvious choices, for people ‘trying’ to appear as tastemakers
look back over the year and what was posted on grindin blogs, and you’ll find this is an honest and well covered chart for all blogs concerned

urban herpes sounds very bitter… what exactly is the scene you are referring too mr herpes? that chart seems to be a pretty well rounded chart of music across all scenes.

    dear “Urban Herpes” you pussyhole

Firstly production is my daily hustle. I’d be a wanna be if i wanted to do it but I’m actually doin it

Second what scene is gonna collapse exactly? What are you actually talkin about?
Good thing you didn’t leave yr name cos that comment makes you look kinda stupid and bitter

If you got a problem with me come speak to me,

    Love Bok Bok

Urban Herpes you are such an ignorant caaaarrrrrrrnt! Bok Bok has had numerous ill tunes of recent times! His new Jinder remix is next level, along with L-Vis, the two of them are more or less trendsetters ;) And it’s hardly a scene when you consider the diversity of the tracks in that chart? If you’ve got nothing nice to say, say nothing at all for fuck sake!

Bok Bok’s comment on twitter kind of irks me

“i dunno why but i’m actually kinda pissed off at this Discobelle hater, wish anonymous battyboys with uninformed opinions would hold it down”

I didn’t agree with that herpes comment either, but i will speak to you about using battyboy, even jokingly, to your (internet) face.

you are white. you are not gay last i checked, what are you doing saying that kind of shit. whether you are doing it with irony or joking it still makes that homophobic shit that some of us who love good music want to cut the fuck out

so yeah, you’re on your ‘daily hustle’ but that comment made me lose a lot of respect for you.

  • bok bok says:

    December 23, 2009 at 22:48

do i really need to explain the difference between ‘gay’ and ‘Gay’ to you?
black or white, everyone i grew up with has been using that word as an out of context slur since school days. Guess it doesn’t translate that well to online, noted

pretty good list. so nice to see the movements of this year being noted – specially the step up by electronica artists into a more dancehall vibe and the out and out experimental melodic non vocal shit of health and fuck buttons.

would loved to have seen some gold panda, but i’m biased.

This blog is amazing….it sounds like a Gossip Magazine
I like some of Bok Bok ‘s stuff, really, and he should at least be mentioned in the top 2009, for sure, even if he’s part of Grindin…
However, I think the blogs tend to all make us think this IS THE music we ought to listen to… and looks a bit to much like a trend you have to follow as a cool kid…
I wish they were some more “subversive” and unorthodox choices in Top 20 sometimes…
It feels like every blog is looking at the next one, to check their list is acceptable!
    Fuck This,
