Christian Martin – 23 Hours In Miami Mix

Today sees the arrival of Niklas over in Miami for WMC, he’ll be holding it down for Discobelle since British Airways managed to screw up my trip. In order for him and everybody else to get in the Miami spirit, here’s an exclusive and devastatingly awesome mix from Christian Martin who’ll be playing the Blue Collar party tonight and then getting the hell out of Dodge, hence the title of this mix: “23 Hours In Miami”.

Caribou – Odessa (Nite Jewel remix)

Caribou (AKA Dan Snaith) recently gave us “Odessa” one of the most blogged about tracks this year, now comes backed with a beautifully done remix by L.A artist Nite Jewel (who Dan describes as making „disco-inspired music that captures the intuitiveness and excitement of the disco records I love“).

“I got excited by the idea of making dance music that’s liquid in the way it flows back and forth, the sounds slosh around in pitch, timbre, pan…Dance music that sounds like it’s made out of water, rather than made out of metallic stuff like most dance music does.” (Dan Snaith, January 2010)

Rx – Bumble

The Nightshifters massive are at it again and this time they hand us the Rx “Bumble” EP for free.

Third in Nightshifters’ series of free EPs comes Rx’s wild and bumpy “Bumble” and a suite of varied remixes sure to make you tweak as much as twerk. Hailing from Philly and part of the global bass family known as Subdivision, Rx’s “Bumble” is somewhere between nu-step and chip-tune with a touch of rumble in the trunk. In true Nightshifters form, “Bumble” is an exploration of the strange; defying expectations in his embrace of musical madness.

Additionally there is a Santa-sack of massive remixes to round out the release. Nightshifters label head, DJ Donna Summer, delves into the deep end with some chill house organs over bubbly beats. Fellow Subdivision pal Nate Day rips “Bumble” to her bones, adding a somewhat hip-hop vibe; while Seattle up-and-comer, Tony Rocky Horror, raves the fuck out of some wobbles. However it’s newcomer, Nifian, that’s sure to turn heads with his epic dark and arty Dubstep remix. Clocking in over 7 minutes long, it’s a cinematic trip through a twilight landscape.

Teddybears – Blue Science

Wednesday and you know what’s going on, another mashup courtesy of Teddybears. Now go grab the new “Devil’s Music” album.

“Another killer-floorfiller-shureshot-mash-up from the Teddybears and their “Devil’s Music”-album that’s being put in the streets today! Eve. Rocket Science. Blue Monday. You know you’ve been longing to hear her back on the mic again, but you didn’t know it would be like this though. She’s ruff-riding the New Order classic into the sunset like there’s no tomorrow. Woohaa cowgirl!”

Tommie Sunshine & Discobelle present: Brooklyn Fire Bootlegs – WMC 2010 edition

Tommie Sunshine is starting up a new imprint, Brooklyn Fire, and what better way and time to do it? Here is a nice little compilation with 20 bootlegs to get the party in Miami started. This is a mean package and all in 320′s.

Here is a statement from the man himself:

“When I thought about launching my new imprint, Brooklyn Fire and the impending WMC I thought the best way to cause a stink was to get the artists whom I dig and have them tear apart something they consider a “classic”. Enjoy these 20 works and I look forward to your support of Brooklyn Fire.”
