JOHNHUGHES-0322

The Music of John Hughes

Stephan AKA The Genevan Heathen hit us up and told us about this latest crazy project to come out of Geneva.

“To celebrate the release of the first t-shirt of our Hollywood series at http://genevan.bigcartel.com, we did a John Hughes tribute mix with a selection of songs we love from movies directed and/or written by John Hughes with some of our favorites quotes from his movies sprinkled over the mix.”

The Genevan Heathen and Mattfoley – The Music of John Hughes (Rapidshare)

Tracklist is located after the jump.

Up next is the Charlie Sheen combo which will include 1 vinyl, 2 t-shirts, and 1 tote bag.

Schlachthofbronx – XLR8R Mix

Seems like the weekend just started, and what better way to kick things off than with this riot starting Schlachthofbronx mix/podcast for XLR8R.

“…The boys have delivered a sweltering, rapid-fire podcast that nimbly bounces between styles and continents. Packed with a litany of unreleased tracks, including many produced and/or remixed by Schlachthofbronx themselves, the mix dabbles in dancehall, cumbia, baile funk, mambo, kwaito, techno, and more, although all the music is united by a dancefloor-friendly spirit and a heavy dose of speaker-bumping low end. It’s like the most fun music ethnography lesson you’ve ever had.”

Feel Like Cobra

A day late and sorry about that but here’s your Teddybears fix with the last of the mash ups for the “Devil’s Music” album.

“Satan works in mysterious ways. This time around thee olde mighty Mad Cobra gets a re-working oldschool reggae style. Beelsebub wines merrily alongside Anton La Vey. Big up all the massive.”

At Night

That Nightshifters posse gives us another slice of party inducing madness with the release of the Momma’s Boy vs. MikiX the Cat “At Night EP”. The title track is a massive house anthem or as the press release describes it: “a peak-time-hands-in-the-air-sweat-down-the-back-rave-infused-house-banger like we just don’t hear much these days”. Remixes comes courtesy of Italy’s Supabeatz, French newcomer Søvngaer, Austin’s own bass hero Dubbel Dutch, Australia’s Act Yo Age and Nightshifters label head DJ Donna Summer.
