Bye Bye Bayou

The release of the new LCD Soundsystem album “This Is Happening” is imminent (leaks have already begun to spring up here and there), if the album is as good as this moody house/techno remix from Turbotito (formerly ½ of Guns N Bombs) of the track “Bye Bye Bayou” then we’ll be happy.

Western Hospitality

Swedish electropop duo Pallers, soon to release the single “The Kiss” on Labrador, has described their music as: “Dance music for the lazy, the blazers and for the slightly depressed”. Here they transform the Afrobeat of the track “Western Hospitality” from indie outfit Club 8 into a: “synth-drenched, dubby excursion. A bright psychedelic trip extracting colours from everywhere”.

Heaps Decent

Heaps Decent is a really cool project that was established in 2007 by Sydney DJs Nina Agzarian and Andrew Levins with American DJ/producer Diplo (Wesley Pentz). Heaps Decent is an initiative committed to finding and nurturing the creativity of underprivileged and Indigenous young people and emerging artists. By providing resources and opportunities, Heaps Decent supports the development of high quality Australian music with a unique identity.”

Here is a little mix that they did of snippets recorded at different Heaps Decent workshops in the last 3 years. To get your juices flowing, the first minute happens to be a new track that A-Trak produced that’s coming out next month.
