Love Thing EP High Res art

Love Thing

Our boy Eli Escobar is following-up his universally adored “Glass House” single from last year with the “Love Thing” EP.

“The “Love Thing” EP is a monster, albeit a beautiful one, with several disco-house gems that have Eli’s imaginative command of understated production that has one foot in the past and one in the future. Folks, it doesn’t get classier than this. “Love Thing Part 3: Only You” features the inimitable Amanda Blank, who refreshingly trades in her tough-girl bravado and unleashes her inner songstress. This is a more mature, revealing and sensitive Amanda, quite different from the dirty (and equally loved) Blank most of us know through her collaborations with Spank Rock and her own album from last year (“I Love You”) which was produced by Diplo, Switch, XXXchange, as well as Eli Escobar. Through their collaboration on her album, Eli and Amanda developed a close friendship. Ironically, even though only two of the the six songs they made together (“Gimme What You Got” and “Big Heavy”) ended up on her album, they continue to collaborate, bringing each other into new musical territory. “Love Thing” is the first of what hopefully will be several future releases by the pair.”

Go get it on Beatport!

Baltik Bass vol. 1

Boom Shakalaka is a DJ/producer collective from Helsinki/Finland specialised in global dance music. They host a radioshow on Bassoradio, promote club events and produce beats and riddims blending different musical styles from around the world. They also recently started running a blog.

“Having musically been a few times around the world, the Boom Shakalaka team from Finland, has also become more aware of their own musical heritage. The finnish, scandinavian, nordic and baltic region has a rich folk music tradition with nice bouncy accordeon rhythms and
beautiful fiddle harmonies. To make this material more suitable for the club, the BSL DJs started making remixes of finnish folk music, which they got some great feedback from. One thing lead to another and finally they realised they have a new genre on their hands, which got the name Baltik Bass, drawing from the musical traditions of the countries around the Baltic Sea. Here is a first official promotional track, from the upcoming Maasto Records release Boom Shakalaka
presents: Baltik Bass vol. 1. Enjoy!”

Heaps Decent feat MC Huz & The Riverina Crew – Anywhere But Here (Produced by A-Trak)

In September last year, A-Trak came to Australia with the Parklife tour. While he was there he joined Heaps Decent in Wagga Wagga, NSW where they took him to Riverina Juvenile Justice Centre for a day of music making with the young artists inside the centre.

This track is what came out of it.

Read more about this wonderful project on the Heaps Decent site.

Sex Sax

‘Sex Sax’ originally began life as a tool for Drop The Lime‘s DJ sets, but it didn’t take long before Luca’s DJ friends were asking him what the track was and how they could get their hands on it. So now it is time to make it public to everyone. But he also made some friends have a go at it. We have remixes from Sinden,MJ Cole, Bart B More, Zombies for Money and Blu Jemz!

FACT mix 156 – Kode9

Fact together with the legendary label Hyperdub hosts an "off-sonar" party next week in sunny Barcelona with Kode 9 as one of the headliners. Cooly G and Ikonika is also spinning!

Bonus:

Kode 9 also gives away a free track in collaboration with DJ-Kicks. It's a mellow Uk Funky track with gorgeous with a nice dubby touch. You can download it from their page or if you are lazy with this direct link.

Ludacris x Joe x DJ Orgasmic – HOW CLAP LOW TRAP

Teki sent over this today.

“One of the big things Sound Pellegrino co-founder Orgasmic used to be
known for back in the good old days was sticking hip hop acapellas
over electronic beats. I’m talking about an era when bootlegs barely
existed, and when the concept of Lil Jon rapping over every possible
dutch house track was absolutely unconceivable… in 2002/2003 the only
people that i knew of, who were doing it with taste and clever/up to
date track choices were Feadz and Orgasmic, and they were absolutely
killing parisian clubs with it. Those who have heard Orgaga’s mix cds
(the ancestral “Orgasmic le toxicologue est secrètement amoureux de
vous” and “the rise and rise of Orgasmic”) can testify: his blends are
always on point.

How Clap Low Trap is a nod to this era, blending Ludacris’s How Low
with the new Hessle Audio release Claptrap by Joe. By the way make
sure you support the wonderful forward thinking label that is Hessle
Audio and grap a copy of Claptrap ! It is one of the Sound Pellegrino
Thermal Team’s favorite releases of the moment. And support Ludacris
too! so he can buy himself another Lamborghini made of gold or
something.”
