Discobelle on the show Babylon on RAI Radio 2

We are going to be on Italian national radio “RAI Radio 2” every week recommending the biggest track of the week on their show Babylon. We will be back every week with a new track that made us go wild. The first show that features us goes live tonight at 00.30 CET. The versatile South African and now Malmö based rapper Spoek Mathambo is currently causing havoc over in NYC and yesterday saw him blow up the East Village Radio show The Let Out together with Nights Slugs co-founder and London bass connoisseur L-Vis 1990. Tonight sees Spoek guarantee a spectacular party at Cameo Gallery in Williamsburg so you NYCers better head down. To celebrate this his first visit to NYC Spoek just did this mix for The Fader and you know we’ll be bumping this at the pre-party tonight.

Dither Down

Dither Down is a new label based in Brooklyn that was started up by Tim Wagner and Benny Lowe of 33Hz along with DJ Chicus of the reggae label, Redbud Records. The label is centered around their love of indie pop, disco, dub, 80s electro and house and it will focus on releases with up and coming New York artists pairing them up with the best remixers from around the world.

Here’s the first Dither Down mini-mixtape which gives us a taste of their fall release schedule that will feature soon-to-be-released tracks and remixes from among others: Trap.Avoid, 33Hz, Populette, Neurotic Drum Band, Eli Escobar, Douster, Lazy Flow, Daniel Haaksman, Victor Rice & Saadi.

Gangster Rave

Following their Spirit of ’91 debut mix, created for our Mixin’ It Up series, the Italian duo is back with a preview of their upcoming single, “Gangster Rave”. Out of their desert sessions, Digital Boy + Shark have created this anthem for the bass child that is inside everyone of us. Tropical gangster, Mr. Vega, and gutter goons Rx and Chae Hawk have provided ear shattering remixes of their respective genres. Mr. Vega provides that angry voodoo that will cast a spell on your knees and will force them to dance into eternity; while Rx & Chae Hawk bring the anger and eternal damnation with a grimey teeth grinder which comes equipped with an instrumental version as well. The troops have arrived, prepare for combat!

This week is drawing to an end and it’s been one hell of a ride. Luckily for us, we find solace in the fact that L.A production duo and all around amazing guys LOL Boys just put the finishing touches to this splendid remix of London singstress Florrie and her recent single “Give Me Your Love”. This is described as being: “Slinky, sexy, deep and rhythmic” and we can only agree.
