The 2 Bears

The 2 Bears consists of Raf Daddy (dj in Greco-Roman Soundsystem) and Joe Goddard (from Hot Chip) and they’re about to follow up the success of their debut EP with the release of the “Curious Nature EP” (out today on Southern Fried Records). The duo is influenced by Derrick Carter, Carl Craig and Larry Heard, and the pair updates their influences with a 21 century take on house to give us a somewhat moody yet banging EP that will surely get numerous spins here at Discobelle HQ. Follow the bears!

Bobby Blue

Soulful vocalist Joe Worricker gets the remix treatment from Swedish remixer extraordinaire Dan Lissvik (of Studio) and the track “Bobby Blue” gets reworked with looped vocals, a beat that chugs along and a shimmering riff that sticks to your brain like bubblegum.

Gaines

We don’t get that many e-mails from Japan but yesterday DJ Daruma of Dexpistols/Roc Star Tokyo blog hit us up to let us know about a new dj mix from an artist featured on their Roc Trax label. Gaines is a twin duo (Kiboo and Koboo) from Tokyo who have worked with Teki Latex and have a new EP due to be released in early 2011, they seem to be holding it down when it comes to that bass filled dance music that we all get down to in the club, check the mix to hear it for yourselves.

Tracklist can be found after the jump.

Kunene

Daniel Klauser is a 20 year old producer/DJ from Santiago, Chile, his first productions were more along the lines of digital cumbia done under the moniker Don Conejo. His sound has now changed which you can hear in the “Kunene” track, which gives us a taste of what to come on his upcoming “Riberalta EP” release (the EP will also feature remixes from Diamond Bass, Samuel Demitémas, Graqc and Paul Marmota) which will be released in December by Glued Records. “Kunene” and the “Riberalta EP” sees his progression towards a more techno and house infused sound with influences of South American rhythms.
