Paradise Falls

Mansions on the Moon’s mixtape, “Paradise Falls”, is now available for free download.

The Echo Park trio formed a little over a year ago and they have since collaborated with N*E*R*D, Diplo, Benzi & Willy Joy, and Xaphoon Jones (Chiddy Bang).
Their debut mixtape “Paradise Fall”, presented by Diplo and DJ Benzi illustrates the wide range of Mansions on the Moon’s capabilities. The fusion of Mansions’ electro indie pop into a trip-hop flavored mixtape shows this band has huge things on the horizon. Keep an eye out for their debut original album and tour dates in the early part of 2011.

Sail A Whale

Forthcoming on Acéphale Records, a collaboration with Swedish label Sincerely Yours for a release with Sail A Whale to be released November 17th, the “Sail A Whale – A Documentation” 12″ contains 6 tracks and comes with a 42 page colour-printed chapbook and 6 videos

“The truest whale, the truest rounded mandorla, the shape of sunshine and piercing thought; firm but soft, moving with certainty through the oceans. Incarnated here, tiresias foretells of all we are too dull and unwatchful to see, the blind seer; the impious interrupter of natural rites, a holy man of double gender; through the eyes of woman, once man, four sets of eyes, all blinded but sharpened, through him we have taken all the risks of interruption. foretell how all versions repeat after one another. all suspended, all former intermediaries in flight, we simply ask – what transcendence? your voice clear on the phone, we would hallucinate that you were waiting for us, we would run toward you on the platform, we would have done everything so as not to fall.
- slwhl

For now, you can enjoy their version of the Korallreven track “The Truest Faith”.

Seel Fresh x Charlie Glitch – Keep It Tight

Ghetto Division founder Charlie Glitch teams up with Chicago MC Seel Fresh to create “Keep It Tight” The collaboration is a fusion of Glitch’s cutting edge juke/house style production with Fresh’s multi-dimensional true school hip hop lyricism. The combination results in an updated hip house sound that steps outside of the box of what you would normally expect from the Ghetto Division Camp. “Keep It Tight” is the introductory track to the Seel Fresh x Ghetto Division “Game Recognize Game” project (slated for a 2011 release) and is the label’s first music video. The video is directed by Helton “Brazilionaire” Siqueria with Casey Bohrnell of HYSTK as director of photography and features cameo appearances from the majority of the Ghetto Division Crew, as well as King Charles of the Footworkingz.”

Numbers Paris

The Glaswegians in the Numbers label goes to Paris for a party at Social Club tomorrow night (in collaboration with Brain Magazine) and we get these two bassfilled mixes, the first one comes from Nelson at Numbers and the second one is the first from our old buddy Kazey together with Karve AKA The Town. Enjoy and if you’re in Paris we suggest you join the party.

“This is a selection of stuff i’ve been playing out recently along with a few older tracks that help to inspire what we’re doing with the club and label. Old / new music from Detroit, Truffle Club grind, and one of the maddest booty / jit tracks i’ve heard. Also new sounds from producers like Boddika/Instra:mental, Kavsrave, Joy Orbison made me want to dig out some old electro records. Really enjoyed mixing with those again, they take you on an otherworldly journey like nothing else really. Battle 101, Hofty, and the untitled Lory D track still sound fresh. (Lory’s track is from his 2001 extended EP called ’9 Tracks 4 A Fine Road-Hog’ – each of the nine tracks are untitled, all are good – let the record play out stuff.. more Lory D coming soon don’t worry!). Anyway these ones used to bring the house down at Jack and Cal’s Seismic parties in Glasgow – Seismic was circa 2002 > 2007 and one of the many precursors to Numbers. Photo sample here – Kazey up in it!! Bitch Ass Darius played one of the closing Seismic parties too, check his mix opus the UK and house tracks include some personal favs from the last year or so, and of course no mix would be complete without a couple of upcoming Numbers releases.”

Never Know

British musician Primary 1 AKA Joe Flory is set to unleash new single “Never Know” on December 6th, which is a taste from his upcoming debut album (with co-production from Paul Epworth and Philippe Zdar) set for release in February 2011.

Mystery producer Gucci Vump turns in a tribalistic ravey synth monster that’s guaranteed to get the dancefloor moving.

Marcellus

Light Year is bringing some serious heat with their new EP “Five Girls” that will be out soon on Bang Gang. The Australian duo Michael and Jordan have been coming on strong since their debut EP “Sex Education”. Looks like the future is looking bright for them.

Deuces

This is hella tight! Remixes of the Ciara track “Deuces” (actually a Chris Brown cover track) from L.A duo Nguzunguzu who tweaks it with chopped up vocals plus a sexy b-more esque beat and from Austin producer Dubbel Dutch who churns out a soca styled remix that have us dancing in our office chairs.
