Expandable Youth are the biggest lames in Vancouver. Jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon stealing other people’s sound trying to pretend they are “authentic” while working for blueprint…..You dudes play at Venue gtfo.

LOL dude above me is right, these dudes are littering facebook calling themselves taste makers because they listen to a Max Ulis Set and heard something original that people like other than that shitty electro bro music they play.

Aren’t these guys opening for Skrillex??? I think that speaks volumes to their respect of electronic music.

LOL wow wasn’t expecting that to happen… when did we label ourselves tastemakers exactly? I wrote a description about some of the members of Grindin, some of which are indisputably considered to be tastemakers.
Having diverse tastes isn’t tantamount to being “bandwagon jumpers”… I don’t know anybody with a modicum of credibility or awareness that would agree with your accusation that we’re bandwagoners. Just seems like some unlearned, blind haterism on your part.
And whose sound have we stolen exactly? I’m pretty sure we just play and or support what music we genuinely like (or is befitting of the crowds we sometimes play for, which are largely commercial, yes). I thought playing & breaking new/interesting music to large crowds of unsuspecting people was a good thing in the DJ world… if some bro at a Steve Aoki show hears us sneak some niche genre music into our set that they would’ve otherwise never been introduced to, then I suspect that’s a good thing.
As for the schmuck with Max Ulis’ dick in his mouth, the only tracks we’ve “stolen” from Max Ulis’ sets are the ones he’s produced and given to us personally (feel free to ask him yourself). So STFU and don’t act like you know anything. Max is friendly with us and has never shown us anything other than mutual respect.
And who cares if we’re opening for Skrillex? So because you open for someone it automatically means you endorse them or support their music? Clearly you don’t know anything about DJing or booking. Do we personally like and support bro electro & bro step? The answer is Yes and No. The stuff undeniably has its place (whether it’s important from a critical standpoint or not) & it’s naive to think otherwise. But neither of us sit at home and listen to Skrillex & think “wow.. this is some truly profound and interesting music”… It’s just dumb shit for people to scream to in nightclubs. It also happens to make the promotions company I work for a shitload of money.

All the haters just need to calm down. I personally like Expendable Youth and their abilities to hype up a crowd, and the fact that they personalize their sets based on the various crowds that they play for. Music is for anyone to appreciate, whether it be a “bro” or a legit “dubstep enthusiast.” It’s also pretty ignorant so assume things without any actual indications of anything. I mean, as an example for you dubstep fans, Cookie Monsta did a mix for Taio Cruz and Ke$ha, you think he’s a huge fan of their music? Hell no. So stop digging yourselves in a niche and be a little more open-minded. /endrant.

I don’t think Expendable Youth sound like Max Ulis at all? And while you may think they rip off Max Ulis, Max Ulis has actually played a few Blueprint shows so…
And Skrillex is definitely made for the clubs. A lot of Dubstep acts like DATSIK and Flux Pavilion support Skrillex. Y’all going to hate on them too?
