Mitte Riddim and Speed Bike

Czech dj/producer Tvyks is part of the Get Wavey crew in Berlin (best new party in the city) and he’s released his magnificent, clubthumping debut EP “From Prague To Berlin” today on emerging label Meanbucket. On the EP, Tvyks have teamed up with UK rapper C.Monts.

Meanbucket were kind enough to provide us in Discobelle with the 320 radio edit of “Mitte Riddim” + an acapella of “Speed Bike” for your remixing pleasure! All remixes and blends sent to them via Soundcloud will be posted on their website/blog. To top things off we give you an exclusive mix from Tvyks himself!

oki-ni Mix Series #4 – The Very Best: Circles

The Very Best just finished up this exclusive mixtape for premier UK clothing boutique oki-ni, perfect way to warm up to the start of a new week.

“I guess some of the songs in this mix will surprise people who are familiar with our music, but in one way or another they all mean something to our musical journey. We used to call Esau Mwamwaya the African Phil Collins because he’s a drummer and singer, and we also tried to work with Phil on the Warm Heart Of Africa album, hence why he’s in the mix.

When we where recording the new album this summer we shut ourselves in a cabin in the Swedish forest and didn’t have any music but a Coldplay CD left behind in the house. Every time we drove to the shop to get some food or drinks we would hear Alicia Keys ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ on the radio and we fell in love with the song… Adiemus is the kind of majestic song we hope to make one day…

The Very Best has always been a lot about melody and that’s kind of the theme for this mix too, melodies that blow our mind.”

NYC producer/dj Cosmo Baker (1/3 of The Rub) is one of the top dudes around and we’re happy to hear this third and final mix chapter of his Love Break series, warm and solid mix to keep you heated amidst all this wintery chaos here in Europe.

“I’m pleased to present to you the third and final installment in my Love Break series. It’s been a long time since I came out with any mixes and a few months ago I was listening to both the first and second mixes in this series and it just struck that I needed to release one very last statement for this. The first two are probably the most heralded mixes that I’ve ever done. They’re the ones that people holler at me about the most, and the ones that I’ve sold the most of with physical product. You can grab the other 2 joints on CD at my store here. It took me a few years to compile all the music that I thought would work just right for this mix, and for the tone of this mix I decided to take a more bittersweet perspective. But, just like the first two, I put this together with love and care, with minimal mixing and just allowing the songs to breathe and live on their own. So I hope you enjoy it…”
