WOLFRAM (ft. Haddaway) – Thing Called Love (Legowelt remix)

Well, I guess everything in dance music has mystifyingly come full circle, because almost twenty years after “What Is Love” comes mindblowingly great Wolfram collaboration with Haddaway. Yes, THAT Haddaway. If you forgot that he could actually sing really well, this track functions as a midnight disco soaked reminder. Legowelt adds an extra glossy sheen to this song, it feels like it was created exclusively for riding down highways in LA at sunset with the roof down.

Wolfram’s album is coming out soon, with collaborations from Hercules & Love Affair, Holy Ghost!, Sally Shapiro, Paul Parker, Haddaway, Legowelt, etc. The album will come out on Permanent Vacation in Europe and will be self-released in USA on April 19th.

Nicolas Jaar – Keep Me There

Nicolas Jaar is unstoppable right now. Not only is he giving out free EPs, coming off of producing a stellar podcast for XLR8R, and already geting comparisons to Ricardo Villalobos and Aphex Twin (though I don’t see how those two are related, really), but at 21 years old he’s already preparing the premiere of his first live show, accompanied by a full instrumental band on March 30th at Fabric.

To celebrate Jaar’s first full length release on Circus Company, entitled “Space Is Only Noise”, we’re pleased to post an experimental but addictive movement-inducing track. The first half of “Keep Me Here” stays obscured in the shadows, building up some looped acapella humming before throwing some jagged piano keys behind it. Eventually it all builds up to a peak, where a soulful saxophone line emerges out of the darkness.

It takes some serious guts to make this work on a dancefloor, and maybe that’s exactly why Jaar’s music seems so exciting – the uncertainty and diversity present in all these songs skews your expectations. Anything goes.

Grahmzilla – F*ck Winter

Grahm AKA Grahmzilla or Nautiluss is our go to dj/producer in Toronto when it comes to all things bass. He’s just about to embark on a tour aptly titled “F*ck Winter” (that includes a few Red Bull Music Academy dates with Lunice, Jacques Greene et al) and to promote this extravaganza he decided to do mix that takes us on a rollercoaster of a ride that can best be described the equivalent of a smashing dance party.

Juan Atkins – Marz (Worthy Remix)

New release from the uber productive folks over at Scion continues the tradition of their previous Dirtbombs/ Omar-S collaborative release, pairing old dance music legend Juan Atkins with fresh faced house music purveyor Worthy.

Godfather of techno Juan Atkins continues his lifelong dedication to the genre he founded by harnessing its alien sounds and pushing his brand of futurism on the dancefloor. These three new, heavily layered tracks are abstract works of art that you can dance to. In turn, the remixers have pushed Atkins’ tracks to more experimental, more organic and more poppier places. It’s a perfect set of sounds for whatever part of the galaxy you’re listening in.

Worthy twists the patterns of the Atkins’ original into a techno-cumbia bounce anthem. Its robust bassline and syncopated programming anchor it through its acidy flourishes. It’s a real smile-inducing, crowd activating rerub.

Wax Motif – Shimmy Shake (Christian Martin Remix)

Intercontinentally appreciated Wax Motif offers up a free remix of his new “Shimmy Shake” single from US house music illuminati Christian Martin of Dirtybird fame that was recently debuted in Sound Pellegrino’s most recent podcast.

CASSIUS – ‘LES ENFANTS’ GESAFFELSTEIN REMIX

Damn Cassius, you have given us a lot of consistently good dance music over the years. And in keeping with that tradition, Ed Banger Records have been kind enough to give use a bomb of a track from “toughest artist name to spell of the year” contenders Gesaffelstein, who paint the track with some dark staccato basslines and trippy synth leads.

The package also comes with a Skream remix, titled “Skream made Zdar feel like he was 20 again remix”, which may be a jab at the age of Cassius, or maybe just a good humored drum’n'bass style throwback to early 90s rave with a funny long name.

Bowski brings in his own vocalist (Tom Cowcher) to croon the falsetto swagger of “I <3 U So” and then gives a heartbreakingly good dancefloor friendly remix.

To round it off, you may have already witnessed the production video of L-Vis 1990′s “jam sesh” featuring The Neon Dreams Regeneration, comprised of Cubic Zirconia’s Nick Hook and Tiombe Lockhart & former L-VIS 1990 “Forever You” collaborator Javeon McCarthy.

Future Me

Antti Eho is more known as Mr A and this is his tropical, funked up reworking of the new single “Future Me” (their debut album “Love & Nature” was just released on legendary British indielabel Heavenly Recordings) from fellow Finnish electropop duo Le Corps Mince De Francoise or LCMDF as they’re now known.

Homework – Hudson Square (video)

Homework offer up a soulful sounding homage to the parties your parents went to before they got pregnant with you. Their new “Hudson Square” EP is full of similar sounding good vibes and music for pleasing party people. Grab one of the 250 vinyl copies over at Phonica, or pick up the digital release on Beatport.
