Frank Ocean – Nostalgia, Ultra

Frank Ocean is another member of hyped up rap crew OFWGKTA AKA Odd Future and here’s his smooth, crooning but still swagging mixtape “Nostalgia, Ultra” for you all to enjoy.

“My name is Frank Ocean. I grew up in New Orleans. I’m from Odd Future. I wrote Nostalgia, Ultra in spring 2010. I think I have Synesthesia. I feel more like some type of visual artist than a musician when I’m working. I just mean my process is more about imagery. Maybe people wanna call it a certain genre because I’m a black guy singing. I don’t really mind. To be honest, I don’t think much about it. I categorize it in iTunes as Bluegrass or Death Metal usually. I’m pretty sure I have Synesthesia though. I also wear a Kippah from time to time. I smoke Marijuana for anxiety. Oh, and I used to battle-rap in High School.”

LOL Boys Mix for Kick Out The Jams

Modern day club mystics LOL Boys flex their muscles with a cumbia spliced with diva house spliced with marihuana flavored trip into the void of futuristic dance music. Stuffed with forthcoming release from Truants, T&A Records and Cool Records as well as exclusive 3ball remixes of Gucci Vump and a Teki Latex collaboration, it’s not surprising to see them making such power moves lately.

Next up they’ll likely be playing to packed Dallas 3ball parties full of neon lit cowboy boots.

Don’t forget to check out the first previews of two tracks that are part of their forthcoming Discobelle Records EP!

Jim-E Stack – Do U

Jim-E Stack makes the audio equivalent of falling down the stairs with a new freebie combining reloading gun clacks and some bubbling stuttering. Put simply: Modern dance music that’s sure to get people percolating.

Free Grizzly EP from Contakt & Melé

Sinden’s UK based Grizzly imprint has been responsible for a year’s worth of club friendly and simultaneously expirmental releases, but their teamup with fellow UK label Local Action is the first time that they’ve shared a free EP with us.

Luckily, it has Melé and Contakt remixing each other’s songs, which is kinda the dance music equivalent of giving each other a simultaneous backrub, somehow, if it didn’t defy the laws of physics. Melé’s remix sounds like an exploding bus careening down a hill in the countryside, and Contakt’s effort feels like perfect inspiration for running a marathon in the middle of the night.

Pocz & Pacheko – Tuki Love (video)

With the release of “Hard Ass Sessions Vol. V” (dropping in April with contributions from Kingdom, Poirier, Bert On Beats and Pocz & Pacheko etc.), portuguese label Enchufada further deepens their reign of releasing bass pounding and booty rattling kuduro compilations which sole mission is to make you get down and dirty. Check this video for the Pocz & Pacheko track “Tuki Love” for inspiration…

Homework – Trailer Trash Warehouse Party Mixtape

Amsterdam fancy hairstyle enthusiasts (and also pretty decent DJs) Homework (Made To Play/Exploited) have put together a vibey exclusive mix in preparation for a warehouse party out in London, which features a startlingly good Deniz Kurtel track coming out on her forthcoming Crosstown Rebels released album, “Music Watching Over Me”.

Adam Port (ft. Ruede Hagelstein) – Corrosive Love (video)

Berlin producer Adam Port has grown to be one of our favorites here at Discobelle, “Corrosive Love” is his most recent release on the Keinemusik label and it’s bittersweet techno track with vocals from fellow producer Ruede Hagelstein that rides the acid line for almost 9 minutes of pure joy.
