S.E.C.T – In The Park (Featuring Ben Westbeech)

We’ve been bumping Soul Clap & Wolf + Lamb’s “DJ Kicks” compilation for a while now, and now we’ve got a cut from the mix to share, a collaboration between Soul Clap duo, Sergio Santos, and Tanner Ross and vocalist Ben Westbeech.

If the continuous mix format of DJ Kicks isn’t your thing, there’s also a 2xLP full of exclusive tracks from the mix that you can grab at Juno.

Also, on a Soul Clap related note, I can’t believe this video didn’t win the DJ Kicks video competition! Way superior than all the others, in my opinion.

Real Fur – Animal (Panteros666 remix)

Panteros666 provides a great remix of London band Real Fur’s debut single ‘Animal’, straying from the hardstyle roots on his Sound Pellegrino debut EP and instead using pitched vocal samples like a chirping siren over the original vocals.

The track is due for release on June 6th on Safari Funk Records.

Le Prix & Johan Agebjörn (ft. Lake Heartbeat) – Watch The World Go By

It’s been a while since we posted about Swedish producer Johan Agebjörn but he just e-mailed us about the premiere of his latest single together with Le Prix and Lake Heartbeat, “Watch The World Go By” will be released by Lo recordings on April 12th with remixes from Skatebård and Teen Daze. The track is also the first single off his upcoming album “Casablanca Nights” (to be released in May with guests CFCF, Sally Shapiro, Fred Ventura, Queen Of Hearts, Wolfram, Legowelt and Ercola etc.).

The track itself is another glorious example of his production skills, a lovely piece of gleaming italodisco with subdued vocals that carries the icy beat perfectly.

Jacking house in the form of the new EP “People” (released by Top Billin) from two German veteran producers/dj’s – Lars Moston and Ben Mono. Top Billin head honcho Sir Nenis smashes the club with his spectacular swagfilled edit of b-side “Can’t Stop”.

Merry Go Down

Stella Mortos is a brand new label out of London and the second release comes from FOE who hands over a piece of sinister pop which gets remixed by newcomer Toby Gale who endorses the track with some discosoul funk. To celebrate the launch of the label and the first release, there’s a shindig going down tonight at The Macbeth in London and the lineup includes live perfomances from Entrepeneurs, FOE and dj-sets from Toby Gale, Ghostpoet, Pettre (of Hivern Discs) + special guests in the form of a French duo.

Eddie Mars – Future

The good people over at Vietcong Disco just started a label for limited run 12″ and they put together a stellar release with Eddie Mars, this one is called “Future” but in reality it’s a classic italodisco affair – the kind with a steady, pulsating groove and urging vocals that just makes you dance. Grab the radio edit below, limited download so you better act fast. The beautiful vinyl can be picked up this week, digital version coming in May.

Future (Radio Edit) by Eddie Mars

The label is also doing a raffle – anyone who follows Eddie Mars on Soundcloud over the next week have a chance to win a limited silk screened copy of the 12″, the design was done by Dan DeGraaf (Pink Stallone) and Anna Francescutti (check it out after the jump).

Pierce & Pierce – I Simply Am Not There

Patrick Bateman: Do you like Pierce & Pierce?

Paul Allen: They’re OK.

Patrick Bateman: Their early work was a little too mainstream for my tastes, but when “I Simply Am Not There” came out in ’11, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a dark, brooding sound reminiscent of the more serious moments on Sincerely Yours, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They’ve been called “micro-techno for after parties at sociopathic yuppie lofts”, but I think Pierce & Pierce has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

I think their undisputed masterpiece is “This Is Not An Exit”, a song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the non-existent lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it’s also a personal statement about the band itself.

Unlike Patrick Bateman, we know next to nothing about Pierce & Pierce, other than the fact that their body of work seems to make several references to “American Psycho” that you can spot if you do a bit of digging.

But we do know that they’re giving away their four track self released EP, which is full of lush techno for the moments when you want to dance the numbness away.

Grab the whole release here, or download “This Is Not An Exit” from Soundcloud below.

Wareika – Burnin’ (Renaissance Man Remix)

Renaissance Man go graveyard-deep on this forthcoming Wareika remix on the always outstanding Tartelet label.

As opposed to Wareika’s summery trumpet-filled “Mountain Ride” single, this one starts off with some blazingly catchy percussiony clicks and clacks as an eerie goblinesque vocal sample mentioning bodies in coffins, cables and computers, repeating that “you are not in there” sinisterly while the beat throbs on behind it, pulsating and growing until it’s the only thing filling your ears.

The release date is still unannounced, but we’re already frothing at the mouth for this one.

Lapalux

Pictures Music are doing a follow up their recent succesful release with Koreless, they’re doing a boutique 50 tape+download release with 22 year old Essex producer Lapalux. The release is a six track EP called “Many Faces Out Of Focus” and will be out on April 18th. The track “Time Spike Jamz” opens the EP with lush, blissful abstract beats that meets a popiness and underneath it all you can distinguish a faint sub bass.
