By far the most interesting royal wedding musical crossover that I’ve heard of yet, Doorly’s reworking of the popular British anthem is at very least uber imaginative, and at best, the only patriotically tinged song that can get a crowd of people moving on a dancefloor.

Limited to a pressing of 500, The limited edition dubplates will be available exclusively at a certain store starting at 11am on 29th April.

New Jersey based founder of labels Troubleman and Italians Do It Better Mike Simonetti travels the world playing obscure disco/house, on occasion he also remixes tracks. Here’s his take on “Everything Falls Apart” from L.A quartet The One Am Radio that focuses on the whisperlike vocals but injects the track with a steady beat for all you late night dancers.

Martyn – Impulsief Mix

We woke up to something a bit different this morning from 3024 label runner and progressive dubstep entrepreneur Martyn, who’s pieced together the spontaneously collected “IMPULSIEF” mix – Dutch for impulsive, full of some classics that you might not expect to hear from him (Ahem, Pet Shop Boys). Maybe it only feels surprising because it’s really difficult to find a promotional photo of Martyn where he’s not shrouded in darkness and looking uber-serious, not sure.

Regardless, Martyn talks about the mix:

‘I do like spontaneously recorded moments, so I woke up, saw that here in the sleepy suburbs of Washington DC it was going to be a beautiful day, and decided to do a mix as if it were a spring afternoon radio show, with a few jingles and music from across the board that I love dearly. Contrary to my DJ gigs in clubs, I actually danced hard to these songs during the recording, and I found out there’s no shame in knowing all the lyrics to West End Girls. Hope you enjoy the music!’

Spoek Mathambo – Sexual Harrassment Mix

Spoek goes funk (other hot goodies are of course thrown in for good measure) with this mix made to promote the new “Sexual Harrassment” remix EP on Citinite (a four track EP featuring the likes of Dam Funk, Sweat X and Jimmy Edgar taking on Sexual Harrassment – a short lived funk/punk group from the 80s).
