Daniel Dexter – Montevideo

Berlin producer/dj Daniel Dexter (of Acidkids) releases his excellent new EP “Montevideo” today, the single is the perfect blend of warm, soulful house with a pinch of tango and blues. An additional stomper of a remix from Anabatic member cheeky Chris James rounds off the package. B-side “Mystical” can be downloaded below.

LOL Boys – BLOCKZ (Video)

LOL Boys were everywhere in 2010, making intuitive percussive dance music for the clubs and the dimly lit makeout sessions in basement afterparties following. In addition to remixes for Midnight Juggernauts, Florrie, Samo Sound Boy, Hot City, Para One & Korallreven, there were countless bootlegs and edits emerging from the dark depths of the internet on a regular basis.

Finally, Discobelle Records is proud to unveil their self-titled EP, channeling their club mysticism into four tracks that feel like the audio equivalent of flickering .gif files, a balance between hazy fever dream club music and melancholic house sounds.

The video for “Blockz” sends you into a THC induced journey through underwater caverns while you’re riding on the back of a bottle nosed dolphin. Rumored to be originally released as a homemade Sega Saturn disc back in 1994, the shimmering analog casiotone evokes the ambient bliss of lovesick teenagers laying in a field drinking a slushie laced with ecstasy.

The video is a fitting companion to the track – Directed by Jerome from LOL Boys, it’s a pixelated ode to the majesty of the virtual animal kingdom.

Don’t miss out on this gigantic release, and grab it from Juno or Boomkat right now. Also, stay tuned for a gigantic remix of their “Runaways” track coming soon from Montreal outfit Grown Folk.

kentondemon

Kenton Slash Demon – Daemon (Alex Boman Remix)

As you would expect it from Kenton Slash Demon, “Daemon” is a grand journey of larger-than-life proportions. The vocals are supplied by Nikolaj Vonsild, bandmate from When Saints Go Machine & Jon Philpot from psychedelia-loving Brooklynites, Bear in Heaven.

Axel Boman, the man behind “Purple Drank” remixes the original into two outstanding interpretations. The “Epic remix” is a vinyl exclusive and takes the shape of an epic, never-ending universe of chopped-up vocals and synth bonanza. The other is a dreamy, atmospheric, stripped-down “Dub version” with an inconceivably massive bassline. Dancing with tears in your eyes is the order of the day.

Also, check out the projection laden video for “Daemon” after you grab the Alex Boman remix from soundcloud below, now downloadable!

ocean

Frank Ocean x Lazee

New Orleans turned Angeleno crooner/rapper Frank Ocean has been the talk of the internet as of late, much due to his amazing mixtape “Nostalgia, Ultra” but also due to the fact that along with his cohorts Tyler The Creator, Hodgy Beats and Earl Sweatshirt he forms the hip hop collective Odd Future. Local rapper Lazee adds some Swedish swagger to the two Frank Ocean tracks “Novacane” and “Songs For Women”. (Thanks to The Soul Lounge)
