The Knux – She’s So Up (Rebecca & Fiona Remix)

Rebecca & Fiona have a bit of fun with LA guys The Knux’s latest single, invoking some chanting, tweaky rising and falling synth sounds, and sweaty ravey moments.

Franki Chan – The Summer Nites Mixtape

Laid back yet confidently danceable, Franki Chan’s new mix for backyards and barbeques walks you through some recently classic soul, house and disco, including a sizzling Aretha Franklin edit from Prince Klassen that would sound right at home amongst some good friends and a clear sky.

Maribou State – Silver Lips

The nice folks over at Rebel have put together their very first compilation release, Heretic Compilation Volume One. From woozy cough syrup fuckery on Ashtre Jenkins’ “Whydafuqmyshirtsobig?” to Maribou State’s blissful downtempo contribution, there’s something from all corners of the electronic music globe for you.

In fact, we’re able to share the Maribou State cut with you a few days early, it sounds something like water droplets falling off an icicle in an unexplored cave somewhere in Greenland; vast and pretty and expansive.

If you’re in Los Angeles, drop by Ronin Gallery for the release party. The whole compilation is available for free download on Friday May 27th.

Friendly Fires – Live Those Days Tonight (Tim Green Remix)

Tim Green
+ Friendly Fires = The feeling of hopping a neighbor’s pool at 4AM on the most humid summer day of the year. That, and plenty of cowbell.

Friendly Fires’ new album is out now, grab it on iTunes or Amazon.

The Count & Sinden – Mega Mega Remix DJ Mix

The Count & Sinden’s
“Mega Mega Mega” had something going for it other than its catchy repetition heavy title, touting a relentlessly powerful batch of collaborations working with an unusual lineup spanning from Katy B to Rye Rye to The Mystery Jets.

Now that a “Mega Mega Mega” remix album has been announced for August 1st, it’s as good a time as any to revisit the album, as well as preview a few of the contributions from the remix album, including some frothy treats from XXXY, Canblaster, Hot City and more wrapped nicely into a 40 minute mix by Sinden.

Too bad the mix doesn’t have any contributions from Coolio Iglesias, whose name everyone else in the universe probably wishes they’d thought of first.
