layitdown

Jacques Greene – Lay It Down (Nacho Lovers Remix)

Canadian contingent Jacques Greene and Nacho Lovers weave some acid bassline magic together on the second release from New York based UNO label.

Saxaphones subtly pop in and out of the background behind the persistence of 808 bleeps and a vocal sample reminding you that “your life is in your hands”. Sounding like something that would play in the back room of Toronto bars in early summertime, their influences gel together in a warm-808 drenched love letter to house music.

LOL Boys does it again.

Worthy & Yankee Zulu – Digital Aboriginal (video)

SF producer Worthy collaborates with Yankee Zulu for the latest release on the Anabatic label, “Digital Aboriginal” is wicked jacking tropical sounding techhouse track with a hypnotizing chant of a vocal sample.

The Weeknd – What You Need (video)

Finally, an official video for the superb track “What You Need” by The Weeknd. Looks like it’s set in the havoc of an afterparty.

Doneao – Check My Swagga Out (video)

Pusha T – Open Your Eyes (video)

De Trop

Malmö krautdisco outfit This Is Head recently took home “pop of the year” award from Swedish National Radio, beating nominees such as Robyn and Radio Dept. They managed to find in their busy spring/summer tour schedule to head down to the studio to record new single “De Trop”. “De Trop” is the first track by the group that is not named with a chronological number and it’s a headnodding groovy track that instantly lingers in your brain.

All Of The Lights (Cousin Cole Club Mix)

The best cousin you could have – Brooklyn based producer/dj Cousin Cole decides to share his remix of the Kanyeezy track “All Of The Lights” which he beefs up for da club. Enjoy!

“I always thought the drums on the original sounded like a mess on a loud system, so basically the purpose of this is to go harder in “the club.” Also rearranged it a little for more chorus and less (read: zero) Fergie.”
