JOIN US AT DISCOBELLE RECORDS!

Discobelle Records has been growing in leaps and bounds throughout 2011, and we’re now looking to take on new label interns during the fall of 2011 to help us keep up with all this movement. If you’re interested in getting some concrete experience working with a label, care about music, and want a long distance way to build up your resume, think about working with us. We’re looking for people to help us with all facets of the label, from creation of new releases to promotion and data collection to bringing your own ideas to the table.

Ideal Candidate:
o Creative written communication skills
o Ability to complete time-sensitive projects
o Highly-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
o Independent thinker
o Proficient in Google Docs/Microsoft Office, other rudimentary internet stuff that if you were born after the 70s you probably learned without thinking about
o Excellent interpersonal, organizational and planning skills
o Hopefully you also care about good music

Day-to-day activities might include but would not be limited to:

o Writing press releases/media alerts to send out when there is news about the label
o Creating compelling and creative content for email newsletters
o Maintaining or establishing positioning for the label on Myspace, LastFM, Facebook, Purevolume, iLike, etc.
o Update and monitor all social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Blogs for the label and artists
o Working with Podcasters, Internet Radio stations and bloggers globally
o Developing innovative fan-recruitment and retention
o Coverage tracking
o Preparing and consistently updating media lists
o Proactive outreach to media targets; including follow-ups
o Online research

LOL Boys – Bubbles EP

Heartwrenchingly dedicated to the pet of Jerome from LOL Boys’ dog (who is now 17 and blind), this new absolutely free LOL Boys nine track EP will tug at both your heartstrings and the muscles that operate the dancing/flailing motions of all important limbs involved.

Released for free on Venezuelan label Cocobass Records, it combines their nearly endless influences ranging from subdued Chicago influenced house music to insomnia-informed 3ball to some homebrewed concoction of calypso, percussion based techno and bubblin’ music, all nine tracks manage to take the theme of “(SOMETHING-ING) THEM” to a strangely transcendent level.

Included below is the tranced out, pure ecstasy filled dance jam known only as “Roll Them”. Elsewhere on the EP, you can hear Lil Jon sampled amidst rave horns, a track based around sampling the “Damn Son, Where’d You Find This?” drop found on World Star Hip Hop videos, and a plethora of other surprises perfect for the dancefloor. Truly, the most enjoyable and crowd pleasing thing I’ve heard in ages. Grab it below, FAST!

Piu Piu x YoungGunz x Chew The Fat

The Renaissanc​e Man Project

When they’re not prepping their debut album “The Renaissanc​e Man Project” then Finnish duo Renaissance Man makes electroish mixes such as this one for Resident Advisor, apparently they recorded it: “…Live on a Sunday morning on a rusty container ship hosting a 72-hour fetish party, sailing in the extra-legal international waters of the Baltic Sea” and we couldn’t give a more accurate description on how this mix sounds and feels. Be sure to keep an out for their forthcoming album and various other projects.

Toffer – Nattbuss (Cocotaxi Remix)

Our friends in The Soul Lounge (best hip hop blog in Sweden) started their own label Soul Lounge Records and today we get the inaugural release “Nattbuss” which also happens to be the first official single from Swedish rapper Toffer. Toffer has via numerous mixtapes and collaborations built up a momentum here in Sweden and “Nattbuss” is produced by acclaimed duo Up2NoGood who have previously worked with Swedish artists Newkid and Simon Emanuel. The single also contains huge remixes from Marcus Price, Denniz Prime & Howard Who. It’s avaliable now on Spotify and iTunes so listen and buy!

In connection with the release we get a slew of bonus remixes from the likes of L-Wiz (grab it over at All Out Dubstep), Daniel Savio (can be found at PSL), DJ Large (available at Kingsize Magazine) and we here at Discobelle can present you with a bootyshaking remix from Stockholm global bass marauders Cocotaxi.
