PlanningtoRock and eerie PlanningtoRock jr. lookalike share some creepy/heartwarming facetime together in this slo-mo video, within which Hannah Holland lifts the original out of its doom-dance rut and makes it into a rather raveworthy affair.

If you need more Hannah Holland time, her EP on Batty Bass records sampling “Paris Is Burning” vocal snippets is a must have.

The “Achtung” EP is filled with a distinct pop character but that’s hidden under a flurry of unexpected twists and turns, abstract compositions and good humour. The track “Variously Made Men” showcases all those characters, abstract and crazy yet dancey and fun.

Fool’s Gold Radio – July Mix by A-Trak

World renowned Montreal born dj, turntablist and producer A-Trak runs a label called Fool’s Gold and now we get Fool’s Gold Radio where the July mix features, yeah you guessed it, A-Trak himself. Not only does it include a new Duck Sauce track, he includes the NT89 remix of the 1984 track “Arabesque” which we here at Discobelle Records released on the “La Mecca” EP back in March. Now do what he tells you, listen to or download the mix and then: “go dance in front of the mirror”.

Jacques Greene – what u r / I like u / Motivation

Primed to be released on what might be a continuing white label series of unclearable r&b samples and Jacques Greene’s inimitable synth work, it seems that we’re gonna get a new 10″ release from Greene on August 16th.

“What U R” seems reminiscent of a lost 90′s house remix of Amerie’s original version that somehow travelled forward in time two decades, and the accompanying Basic Instinct video footage from the video teaser seems more than fitting.

B-side “Motivation” should’ve been commissioned as an official Kelly Rowland remix (not sure if this was proposed and rejected, or if Greene preferred to go the independent route) – regardless, it pumps the original full of a hollow, longing filled vibe that’s definitely an improvement.

Don’t know why this video’s made to be unembeddable, but it’s definitely worth a visit to Jacque’s youtube channel to preview.
