Zombie Disco Squad – Piano Man (teaser video)

Guess we know now what we will be dancing to all these dark months ahead, huge track from Zombie Disco Squad. “Piano Man” will be out on Made To Play October 24th.

Rewards (ft. Solange Knowles) – Equal Dreams (Eddie Mars remix)

Rewards is the solo project from Chairlift co-founder Aaron Pfenning and “Equal Dreams” (released yesterday) is his new single on DFA. The original is an upbeat percussion laced sensual track. Brooklyn based Eddie Mars from Vietcong Disco fame sticks in a thumping bassline that along with the smooth weaved in vocals from Solange Knowles gives the track an even more dreamlike and deep feeling.

Renaissance Man – What Do You Do When You Do What You Do

Renaissance Man – What Do You Do When You Do What You Do from Turbo Recordings on Vimeo.

Tongue twister? Veiled reference to Salt N’ Pepa’s “Shoop”? NEITHER – it’s the latest Renaissance Man video, which is out now on Beatport and Juno, where the vinyl has already not-surprisingly sold out. Remixes from Matthew Herbert, Paul Woolford and more on the digital make it an essential purchase.

Guy Gerber – Nothing Can Be True

Guy Gerber is only getting weirder and weirder, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it.

For example, did you know he has a collaborative project in the works with Diddy called 11:11, which is shaping up to be an entire album after Diddy was pleased with some remix work? Apparently now Sean John flies Gerber out to his studio in LA to work, where he gives him “2000% artistic freedom.” Considering Diddy’s recent painful name change to “Swag” (but only for a week), it’s probably not a bad idea to have someone else at the helm of the ship creativity wise.

Also notable is the fact that in a show of superior curatorial know-how, Gerber’s already commissioned Renaissance Man to remix their “Tourist Trap” track which you can now stream in its whole sludgy, dragged out glory on the RM Soundcloud page.

Today though, we’ve got an exclusive Gerber cut up for grabs, from the eclectic´Heartbeats´ compilation out now, which features Greg Paulus, DoP, Lee Curtiss and many more.

The track begins as a deeply burrowed vocal sample loops the phrase “it’s off the hook” around twinkling swirling loops and thumping percussion. Quickly, everything gets reconstituted into a mournful high altitude stomper where the song’s title rings out like it was amplified from the top of the mountain out of a fog horn. Here’s hoping your vertigo doesn’t kick in.

Hold On

Consistently superb Klasse Recordings are back again with a new release from Austrian tastemaker Florian Blauensteiner, who delivers a perfectly paced house ballad with new single “Hold On” that merges classic house with billowing, dry ice smoke machine emitting tech sounds with a slinking bassline and classicly satisfying reverberating synth stabs.

It’s enough to make you want to dust off your old Romanthony records, or maybe to just keep the remixes that SLG and Klasse boss Luca Lozano provided for the release, which is now available on Beatport.

Zombie Disco Squad (ft. Spoek Mathambo) – We Should Bang (re-release)

Them Zombie Disco Squad boys are back in full effect after a brief hiatus with the re-release and re-working of the “We Should Bang” single (the original was released on Deadfish last year), you know the one where South African rap prince Spoek Mathambo let’s us in how to treat the ladies when you’re on a date over an equally infectious and sleazy beat. Booking agency and label Jackmode drops the updated single that goes deeper and dirtier, all intertwined by a moody techno beat and a drop so huge it will raise hell on dancefloors. Berlin duo AKA AKA along with Monkey Safari heads the remixes with two different but equally amazing offerings. As an exclusive, we here at Discobelle can offer you the dub version of the track proves that even without the vocals, this is one sinister affair.

BONUS: New exclusive mixtape for Discobelle from Nat and Lucas, it’s a big one.

1984 – Theme From 1984

Back in March Discobelle Records dropped the globally minded “La Mecca” EP. four big tracks of horns, cowbells and deeply percussive techno music. If you missed the Brodinski-lauded NT89 remix that left melon sized lazer holes in dancefloors everywhere it was dropped, it’s not too late to still grab it over here.

But now 1984 have shared the somewhat mysteriously titled “Theme from 1984″ track with us and it’s a gem – seven and a half minutes of rollicking, sliding grooving techno, maracas and bongos mingling with a chopped up vocal exertion that’s all set in motion by a pulsing bass driven beat.

Grab a free download below while the getting’s good!
