The Escargot Brothers

Apparently LA producer (thee) Mike B, French maestro of club music Teki Latex and French multiproductive mastermind Guillaume Berg bonded over a dinner in Paris consisting of escargots and decided to form The Escargot Brothers.

Here’s a booming mix of bassy goodness they made exclusively for Dazed Digital. The mix – according to the trio – is: “Next level shit from France, Paris Bass guide for beginners, L’ami Louis de la musique” with tracks from Sam Tiba, Canblaster, French Fries, Bobmo, Strip Steve, Para One, Das Glow and Brodinski etc.

Soul Clap – Disco Step 2001 Mixtape

Acclaimed Boston house/disco duo Soul Clap are getting ready to take over famed London club Fabric on friday for a thirty hour 12th birthday party with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Moodymann, Maya Jane Coles, Lee Foss, Pearson Sound, Ben Klock, Steffi etc. But first they give us a soulful new mixtape on which the boys have been busy digging through a massive backlog of mixes and rare audio gems to come up with a gift so groovy it takes us all the way back to 2001.

Safe House Staff

Stockholm outfit Safe House Staff is a collective consisting of rappers Nimo, Näääk, Marcus Price, RahBalder and Sexfemman along with dj’s Kojak and Lickshot. They just released their debut EP “Staff Only” (on Slang Musik) on which you’ll find partybangers with razorsharp flowing rhymes and tweaked bassheavy production from Marcus Price and Kristoffer Malmsten.

We at Discobelle received two exclusive remixes of the track “När Dom Frågar Vem” for your downloading and listening pleasure. The first one is a mash up done by Marcus Price where he blends the track with the old “bushy bushy” dancehall riddim and the second one comes from skwee producer and Flogsta Danshall member Drums who also throws in some twisted dancehall flavour.

Pariah – Left Unsaid

That hot little two lettered recognizable label that relaunched five years ago is finally getting a chance to try their hand at the compilation game (or for the first time since 1989′s “In Order To Dance” at least) with R&S’s forthcoming IOTDXI collection.

The first half consists of some pristine dancefloor moments from the last two years – kicking off with Model 500′s “OFI” remixed by Bullion, and also including some James Blake, Lone, Blawan, and Vondelpark tracks that you’ve probably wifed up someone on the dancefloor to.

The second CD is full of unreleased material from the R&S camp, including this stony, rustling static anthem from Pariah that kind of sounds like someone’s chipping away at a stone tablet in the middle of a wheat field. It’s only at about the four minute mark that things start feeling a little hectic, rising distorted horns slowly drowning out all the other sound. Hear this on a good set of speakers ASAP.

IOTDXI is out on October 31st.
