We haven’t heard anything from Australian outfit The Avalanches in years, but out of nowhere this mix was mentioned on their Twitter the other day and our hopes are lifted.

It’s entitled “Sleepy Bedtime Mix for Young Ones” and is filled with vinyl crackling softly, sampled dialogue from movies and mysterious versions of classic tracks. A perfect weekend mix, now we’re just waiting for the followup to that 2000 masterpiece “Since I Left You”. (Via The Fader + Pinchy & Friends)

Have you ever had a secret so good you’re bursting at the seams to tell someone but you just can’t? Well this JWLS remix of Buraka Som Sistema‘s “Tira o’ Pe” has been just that for me. Until today. JWLS has just posted this masterpiece of an African kuduro meets Moombahton track on his Soundcloud. The track is set to be released May 7th on Enchufada. Get on it people.

The inaugural edition of the Plant Music “Seed” podcast features NY’s finest Eli Escobar and it’s feel good 1 hour ride of excellent house/disco sounds. Click play below and enjoy!

There is no tracklist for this mix but here are some words from the man himself:

“I made this mix live in my studio and then threw some overdubs on top of it. When I’m on the road I’ll make mixes in Ableton and in clubs I’ll use CDJ’s but whenever I do a mix at home I always pull a record out, hit record and just take it from there. I think it’s just a habit I’ve held on to since I started making mixes in high school. It doesn’t always work out but luckily this time it did. This mix consists of records I bought in Detroit, Chicago, New York and, in one case, from Roctakon’s personal collection. Hope you all enjoy it.”
