House Is OK – “We Make House Music Vol. 3”
I’ve spent the better part of my only day off sifting through the stacks on stacks of submission emails that where forwarded to me, a daunting task, to say the least. Though at times I might have become distracted, dissuaded by the the pitfalls and timesucks the internet is so prone to these days, I struck gold with a promo from a young, upstart label out of Croatia, House Is OK.
Label founders, Homeboy, Janis and Oliver Achatz, take a steady aim at the dance floor with three original tunes set to drop on June 24th. Dripping in 80’s electro-funk, “Hula Hoop” is a bouncy, euphoric number, relentless in it’s groove and the only cut to receive a remix (via the capable hands of Sleazy McQueen). The real winner for me here is the stomping, “Movin’ Up” by Janis, a perfect weekend weapon that I foresee a rightful place in my crate for months to come.
“We Make House Music Vol. 3” is the final installment in their inaugural series and lands perfectly in tune with your summer soundtrack. At this point, all I know, is that I’ll be dancing the warm nights away in anticipation for more james from House Is OK!
